I'm working on a improvement to my TAS of Mario Time Machine, and I was wondering: How do I make a movie, stop that movie, and continue from where i left off in the movie? I never understood that.
So yea, how's it going? Currently TASing: Nothing

Playback your movie. At the point where you want to resume, make a savestate. Set the emulator to read+write mode. Load the savestate you just made. (Also, I moved your topic to the newcomer forum, since this is a great question to be answered for newcomers)
