Also, the end of level cinematics seems to have part (lightbeams scene) missing (with noticeable sound desync).

So I just recently updated to 3.0-766 (yesterday) and made an IL TAS of TWW. Sadly, when I try to play it back on any A/V sync hack, I keep getting corrupted Memory Card errors... I could really use some help on this one. It's actually a good, not TWW Crap TAS for once. I decided to update since I have to restart the TAS and using the old build was getting kinda annoying. Oh, also, I know for sure that the A/V sync hack will fix the audio, because it has worked on previous versions.

That was made with the original Dolphin :) Here is an encode made by your build, 64 bits with lagarith loseless codec. I'm really not sure what you're asking. What is skipped in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0-ypmXoMA8

766 from dolphin-emulator.com, or from natt's avsync build? This could be relevant.

How come we don't have the same results using the same build ? Oo I tried many codecs, I use the build 3689S 64bits version, with dump frames, dump audio and dump audio to avi... What settings are you using please ?

I think natt was referring to actually uploading Lagarith to Youtube (which doesn't work properly), not using lagarith and running the thing through AVISynth and x264 (which does). Also, don't run Lagarith directly through x264 (it doesn't work right either).

Yeah, lagarith is fine for dumping, and then viewing either in vdub or avisynth->vdub, but cannot be safely directly processed by ffmpeg (so can't feed directly to x264, nor upload to youtube). x264vfw is only safe for any use at all when "zero latency" is checked. even then, i wouldn't feed it to ffmpeg...

EDIT: Rog compiled a new dolphin for me! My error is resolved. STBM: What I do is dump the audio to AVI, then open that AVI in Virtual Dub. Then I dump the audio to a .wav, run the AVI through avisynth (with killaudio) and x264. I run the .wav through SoX and neroAacEnc. The I use mp4box to merge them together. It may be overkill and not the fastest/accurate way, but it syncs for TWW, which loves to skip audio in many places. Link to video Meh, it gets off. Idk, I would blame the game at this point. You may just need to do some manual audio syncing.

I'm really lost here. Where am I supposed to put the files in the [patches] folder?

If you got a binary build for it (for version that syncs), replace dolphin.exe with it. If you just got the patches, apply those to the source (of suitable version) and build the result.

... okay, well I'm not about to start up a project that will take all my Friday off from work, so I'll do the binary thing :)

Could anyone provide me with an AVsync build for 3.0-389? I tried the first download on the 1st page, and it sync but runs the game at about 3fps. The next build on there won't playback correctly. RachelB provided me with the current build I'm using, as it has a disc change option.

There is no such version 3.0-389 (http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/download.html?list=17). You'll have to provide us with a git commit or an existing entry from that list to build your A/V sync version.
All syllogisms have three parts, therefore this is not a syllogism.

Well that's odd. I guess I'll ask the all-mighty RachelB to help me. He provided me with the version I'm using (by recompiling an existing version with the disc change). Maybe he has the source code? Rachel and a dozen others deserve a a box of cookies for all the help they give me on this site.

Speaking of new builds, is the most recent AV sync version built off of the new Dolphin 3.5?

I am able to get my run to sync on 3.0-371, which is odd because one of the builds on the 1st page uses 3.0-383, and my TAS uses 389. What happens in the 383 AVhack build is the "frame" indicator being 2 units higher than it should be when I do a playback. On the first input (VI = 1) in 371 and 389, the frame amount is 5, but on 383 it is 7. If anyone is able to, I could use a modified build of 371 with the AVhack. I don't know if 371 has any of the TAS improvements, but disc change does work. http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/download.html?list=17

Would someone be able to make an AV Hack version of 3.0-754? It's what I used to start Wario World and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, so I'll have a use for it soon.

Here, should be what you need. Don't tas with it, but it should sync your movie. By the way, dolphin-emulator.com is not run by our dev team, please don't use that site. http://dolphin-emu.org/ is what you want.

rachelB, this AVhack build of yours has the same flaw as the 383 build, where the "frame" value is 2 or 3 units off, and it won't sync. Does something mess with the timing of the emulator?

Are you sure you have all the settings correct? Check the about menu, 79ca43226cfa5363bf6826d14c9518c7b26f6078 is the revision for the 3.0-371 that it syncs on, right?

My settings for both are the same, and the revision number is correct.

I don't have the slightest idea then. I added the disc change patch, and avsync hack, and everything else should be identical. Certainly neither of those would affect sync...

Have you tried both builds on your end to see if there is a difference in the "frame" and "VI" values when you run a game? Maybe it's just RE4 being iffy? I'll try some more hexing in my dtm, but if the numbers don't match up I don't see it syncing. If we can't get a proper encoding emulator, then I don't see my run getting accepted. :(
