As Wonder Boy in monsterland was just submitted I started to read some hints etc for the game. Turns out that there is a money bug/glitch/cheat which invloves starting the console without controller 2 connected and after getting the first sword, connect controller 2 and press start 73 times. I would like to verify that, but there is no way in BizHawk where I can disconnect/re-connect the controllers to give it a try. Would it be possible to get this feature implemented? Taken from GameFAQ's (http://www.gamefaqs.com/sms/563500-wonder-boy-in-monster-land/faqs/2927): "Extra Gold: Plug in control pad two after you get your sword from the fortune teller in scene one. Control pad gives you access to the pause button. Each time you hit the pause button 73 times you will receive 45 pieces of gold." Thanks!

Sounds more like a hidden debug feature than a trick/glitch.

Agreed, but there are other uses for disconnecting controllers mid TAS (Secret of Mana lets you add and drop character control and you can do some tricks if player 3 has a text box open and you connect/disconnect her)

Secret of mana can enter/disconnect players by pressing select or start button if I remember correctly. But the textbox tricks I don't know of.

To be clear, you are requesting the act of emulating unplugging/plugging in a controller, and subsequently recording this act into movies. Not a UI feature of enabling/disabling controllers (similar to what most emulators have) This emulation would be on a per core basis, and the movie format would have to be modified in some way to accommodate this. In addition, we will have to restructure the input system to have a concept of what devices are plugged in (a restructuring we will have to do eventually anyway, for things like zapper support). While I like this idea and would like to see it happen in theory, it is certainly no small task to implement. I am glad we at least have a good test case though, should anyone ever think about taking on the task.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Well... Earlier I did not even think about movie support, but it is a natural thing to do of course to implement that as a fully fledged feature with recordable capabilities.
