Intro

This is a homebrew game created by Lucas "Dizzy9" Kur. The newest version is 1.4 [dead links to version removed]
This movie completes the extra world of the game using the only way to start it: the password "DEAD" (note: "FFFF" wont work). As the author said, nobody ever completed that mode. (oh, he only reffered to himself)
Pleas read the readme file from the rar file so you understand what is this game without having me describe all the fancy things.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: FCEUX 2.2.0
  • Aims for fastest shortest input
  • Entertains without losing a frame
  • Uses password to start Extra world

List of unuseful glitches

  • If you are standing on a platform and there's another object that moves (spring, enemies), standing on the edge of the platform will warp you to the wrong (the object that close to that platform) place.
  • In "duo" levels, you can die by jumping the "duo" partner to the wall.
  • In "duo" levels, sometimes your jump length is wrong and they will have different jump boost too.
  • In "duo" levels, sometimes you can't pick up the collectable even in the good dimension with your real hero.
  • You can sacrifice yourself at the end of levels while completing the level (press S at last frame)
  • In Extra world, the last duo level can't be completed by moving to the right at start. The "duo" partner can't use the elevator.

List of useful glitches

  • You can jump on the bottom of the screen.
  • You can abuse this further by wrapping around the screen (if you don't change gravity)
  • You can complete "duo" levels even if you kill your partner. Just make it to the end fast!
  • Jumping off from the climbing wall and rejumping is very fast.

Miscellaneous

See you until my next TAS =) (probably I just finish the main mode of this game)

This is some interesting gameplay. Only if there would be more levels... so no vote.

Thanks for commenting. The main purpose of submitting this was to get feedback about the game, since I actually don't find it exciting/entertaining. The main game has 6 (or 7?) worlds, each world has 5 levels. This extra world has 6 levels and the 4th level unassisted would be really challenging (and probably much slower because of lava), while the 5th and 6th level is only hard because of the game breaking glitches I wrote in the submission text. You need to be very careful to avoid those idiot glitches (jumping into to the wall with the duo partner dies is the most unexpected thing that happens very easily on last level). I hope the main run won't have the same problem's other side (too much levels)

In general, I find action-puzzle speedruns like Solomon's Key and this not very entertaining to watch because they look like walkthroughs. And in this case, the game is super obscure and doesn't look very fun, not to mention all the major bugs mentioned in the submission text. Looks like a good chunk of work was put into this TAS, but unfortunately I'll have to vote No as far as entertainment goes. That said, I'd really like to know how you discovered this game MESHUGGAH. Do you know a website dedicated to homebrew games or something?

Thought it was good and short enough for a yes vote.
Post subject: to IRC tell feos (or whoever) to update the movie data!

Okay I still have encodes on this (the only thing I have for publishing for quite some time now). What is the result going to be feos?

I need to ask, what is it about the movement tracking object in level three that requires you to pause and backtrack some? Without that knowledge, those movements are really baffling.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Third level's "dimension change" is timed, so whenever I can't pick more collectables, I move variously so I can dance with it. Whenever it looks like I miss a collectable it's because I can get it in the next dimension change. I'm 100% sure that it's unimprovable.

Ask adelikat.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I think this is publish-worthy, but I'm on the fence about how entertaining I found it. Glad I have the option to vote Meh (which I just utilized).
