Hmm... I am not sure a 1-player run on this game is a very good idea. Two players are more fun and produce a faster run. However, I still watched this, and I tried to compare it to the 1-player Super NES submission from a long time ago by White Gastra (
http://tasvideos.org/2046S.html).
Here are my comments on your run:
STAGE 1
* Inconsistent strategies with the purple monitors. It looks like dashing kicks should always be faster than grabbing them and using knees.
* Nice job with Abobo, though, getting the extra hit in before he appears.
* It seems the Genesis version has extra congratulations music at the end of stages, making it slower than the SNES version.
STAGE 2
* Good entertainment when you have some waiting time (like killing one goon by throwing him over your back)
* Dynamite guys are faster in the Genesis version, it seems. Your work with them was impressive!
STAGE 3
* I liked seeing you kick the little yellow arrow :-)
* This stage seems to lag pretty badly on the Genesis version compared to the SNES.
* The kicking glitch on the cable is cool at first but looks cheap when overused.
* After your first deaths in the pits, you seem to have some slow fights with the Lindas, and you have avoidable delays killing the cannons on the walls. Overall, that shaft looked sort of slow.
* It's not clear the death abuse is actually saving you much time in the long horizontal segment. Unlike in the SNES run, you aren't getting bounced forward each time you die.
* Good Roper fight! I especially like the first hit.
STAGE 4
* In 4-1, you have a lot of wasted shots. Some of it is for entertainment, but I think you could be a lot more precise taking out the asteroids coming out the back of the ship. I'm not sure if the UFOs could be killed much faster though.
* I'm not sure the homing missile saved time in the boss fight. You also switched up targets rather than staying on one target. Do you know how much time that saved?
STAGE 5
* Good death skips.
STAGE 6
* The second round of goons feels slow, especially when you throw one over your head.
* It's good to see that the Shadow Boss has fewer delays in the Genesis version. You still have to wait two times for him to go back and forth in a spiky ball, but that part proceeds more quickly.
STAGE 7
* The fights against the enemies in the beginning look sort of sloppy. For instance, you take a lot of time getting a purple monitor to come to your level before kicking it twice.
* It looked bad to have the Dark Queen successfully get underground twice in the last boss fight. Were there better ways to deal with the powerup pods to keep them out of the way?

In summary, I think this is pretty entertaining, but not as much as the SNES version (the music is worse in this version). I'm giving this a Meh for entertainment. However, compared to White Gastra's run, I think the run is moderately worse technically, and I don't think I would recommend it for publication. It's a good effort, but it's not as polished as previous runs.
