Honestly I have no idea what that hacking contest is :)
But I am glad to know that there are contests for romhackers.
Nope, I just saw a TAS made by my friend, and decided to make mine, just to show my friend his mistakes. Obviously, I made other mistakes (the boss fight is one of them, because I have no experience with multitrack recording), but my goal was to illustrate how improveable was my friend’s run :)
(upd) I’ve found out that my Knuckles in Sonic 1 GHZ1 is still improveable. It is possible to perform double out-loop jump, allowing to gain ~100 sp/f higher speed after the loop, but it appears to be tricky as hell, I am not sure I can do it :(
(upd 2) today the TASer whom I usually beat by many seconds, beaten me by seconds. Here is the run =)

(upd) btw, this run can be done in 0:13, I’ve found a time-saver, but I cannot repeat it now :( the idea is to gain enough X speed from the loop before falling onto the red spring. Then you will not hit the ceiling and land directly onto the next booster. I need just ~100..200 subpixels per frame higher speed at the same point, but I leave it for next time, if WAKO/KPM improves me again ^^

So, what do you do when the internal hard drive of your xbox 360 gives out? You TAS. I'm working on a special tas of a sonic hack. Not saying what it is though, I want it to be a surprise.

So my last time for Sandopolis 2 as Amy is 1:04, and it’s again improveable, now I am absolutely sure that the level can be finished in under 1 minute (especially considering that the cylinders can be luck-manipulated for better positions).
I also improved the first 2 stages… No preview for now, sorry.
Angel Island 1 improved by 13 frames, new time: 0:39.48
Angel Island 2 improved by 30 frames, new time: 0:22.41
Hydrocity 1 improved by 6 frames, new time: 0:32.38
Hydrocity 2 improved by 16 frames, new time: 0:20.11
Total improvement over my previous attempt: 65 frames(upd) finally I’ve solved the task of determining the emu2000’s route in the second act of Sonic Boom, which makes me and got4n able to continue TASing it :)

First you need to align yourself vertically to skip the horizontal wall. Fortunately, it can be easilly done with full regular jump, you just need to adjust your Y subpixel position (I made it by jumping). The second issue is that you need to go 1 X-pixel to the left while passing through that wall. The obvious problem about it is that you loose horizontal control after hitting the invisible boundary, so I:
1. Positioned myself to hit the boundary at proper X position
2. Abused flying to regain horizontal control at proper point.
P.S.: no, I am still not that kind of «boss», I know this from Aglar (but, be sure, I really understood how to make it, after his explainations, as he explained it for Amy, which is easier than with Tails).
