There's no rule that the MVP award can't be given to a member of the losing team. In fact, it happened once.
But you're right. They just don't give Super Bowl MVPs to a member of the losing team.
By the way, from Wikipedia: "The winner is chosen by a fan vote during the game and by a panel of 16 American football writers and broadcasters who vote after the game. The media panel's ballots count for 80 percent of the vote tally, while the viewers' ballots make up the other 20 percent."
My sarcasm was missed I guess. I was attempting to cleverly commentate on the media hype surrounding his retirement.

Broncos! This is going to be a great game. Apparently the first time that (when measured by yards gained/allowed) that the #1 offense plays the #1 defense in the Super Bowl.
But yea. Go Broncos.
