I just found this on the speed demos archive. Currently downloading it. Sounds like it'd be amazing. If anybody else out there loved the game Mario 64 you'd probably love to watch this run: http://www.planetquake.com/sda/other/Mario64.html#120 Props to Jeremy Taylor -- the artist behind the game!

It's pretty good, he admits there are a lot of mistakes. You really feel bad for him when he falls all the way down from the top of tick tock clock- man I hate that level. The 16-star run, on the other hand, is near flawless in terms of gameplay. I feel like the route may need tweaking, but it is very well played.

I watched it, and found it quite entertaining He used some really cool shortcuts (for example star#4 in Cool Cool Mountain, or star#6 in Tall Tall Mountain) But then again there were sooo many small mistakes (and also some big ones too...) that I'd really love to have an N64 emulator with slow-mo and rerecord function... I think a time of 2:30 or even less would be very well possible with optimizing everything. Nevertheless, those 620 MB are worth it to download!

The 16 star run was amazing. I was really stoked to try it. Then I found out I sucked too much to do it. Haha... oh well, its just like any other game for me!

I found the 70-star run to be more entertaining and exciting than the 16-star run, although the glitches are incredible.

Remember it's a speedrun played in real time without any tools, I love it :D

Remember it's a speedrun played in real time without any tools, I love it :D Just because it was done in real time doesn't automatically make all the mistakes excusable. I haven't watched it, but I've heard from people who have watched it that it was much less skillfully played than the 16 and 70 star runs, though I heard that the 100 coin routes were good. I'll be waiting for a faster run rather than downloading this one.

Just tried the glitches out myself, and was able to get an amazing time of: 48 minutes 17 seconds. Not even close to being near how good the video is, but its much better then my previous multi-time completion of the game :) Song of the glitches took me over 10 minutes to get right :(

I had been anticipating this run for a while ever since LeCoureur said he was going to beat marshmallow's run (which I had thought was as good as it was gonna get). Anyone who's a fan of this game should definitely watch it. He does some pretty amazing stuff and is taking risks, doing near-impossible things up until the end of the run. There are barely any mistakes, too.

Such creative jumping. That 70th star was amazing.

The Bowser segments should prove it's not a TAS. Other than the sub-par Bowser fights, the movie was "spectacular". Best N64 speed run in existance.

I disagree. The reason I doubt that it's not a TAS is because the technology doesn't exist for it yet. It's unlikely someone independently created the technology just for tricking the internet. Maybe I'm thinking too devilishly, but if I wanted to trick people into think I did a real run, I would intentionally put mistakes in here and there. I thought the movie was fantastic. He knew the Princess slide and penguin race shortcuts perfectly. The 70th star was amazing. He cut so much time from it. I think the scariest jump was in the first Bowser, where he long jumps to a red coin that was not visible. But TSA, have you ever played GoldenEye? The accomplishments in that game are unbelievable. Mario 64 is a much much easier game. I have a video of someone beating the Aztec Temple on 007 Mode with everything maxed.

Well, who would make a TAS and not have it be perfect - that was what I was addressing. But, if you meant how do you know it isn't a TAS with the purpose of deception...petty obvious...no TAS video looks like it was done on a console...something graphical always tips it off (frame out of place, too crisp of graphics, buggy graphics at some points). And as you said, somebody would have had to have developed this ability without anyone here knowing (or if they did, they were keeping it a secret). I've played Goldeneye 007 and I know about The-Elite. But I am sorry, the longer a video is at such high precision, the harder, to me, it is to reproduce. That is why an hour long video of this SM 64 run surpassed any 007 run I've seen at The-Elite. If it had flawless Bowser fights, then it would be extraordinary. For me, the bowser fights brought me back down from the "high" of how cool everything else was. The fact he ended on a mistake with a mis-toss in the final battle...ugh, so unfortunate. I'd like to see somebody else do the run, though...as in...though it had those mistakes, it's not like just anyone can beat it... Now...if somebody did a 007 Run maxed out everything and did all the levels in a speed run...and reproduced the Aztec Temple video quality play level...but all of it in one sitting...I'd retract my statement about the 007 videos.

Heh...Radix is seriously against this whole "sub this" thing...I mean, he's not against it really, but he thinks it is a psychological thing and people who get good times think they're not doing well unless it is "sub this" or "sub that".

I thought he made a very good point bringing up the psychological aspect.

Sorry for being unusually dense, but could someone enlighten me a bit about why this video is so OMGWTFWOWThisisnutsTruelyawesomeIsthisreallyanunassistedrun??!?!-o Yes, I can see that it uses cool shortcuts and the jumping in some places quite clearly has required hours and hours of practice... but I really can't see what's so astonishingly awesome about it. Perhaps it's just that I have never played the game and thus can't appreciate the godlike skills of this speedrunner? Perhaps I have been watching way too many QdQ demos and got numb?
