Post subject: "Best ending" tag for movies of games with only 2 endings

It seems there is some inconsistency with runs of games with only two endings that are tagged with "Best ending" and those that are not. How should we go about tagging these runs? Should all the ones that currently have the tag lose it, or can it be thought of as "better ending" and applied to all of the runs on the site that get the "good ending" over the "bad ending"?

I'm generally in favor of the tag "best ending" whenever a game has two or more endings, but I can think off-hand of some games where this doesn't really apply (e.g. Streets Of Rage, which has the regular ending and the kill-your-teammate-to-become-the-new-crime-boss ending, which doesn't really strike me as "best"). I'm not aware of Braid having multiple endings though. Sure, you can explode the princess or not, but that doesn't change the ending you get.

Exploding the Princess is considered the 'best ending' regardless.

Thanks for your input. So "best" can mean "better" as long as a run gets the best (not necessarily secret) ending?

I'm pretty sure that "the better of two endings" is a form of "best ending". That being said, I think Braid's "ending" is glitched and doesn't qualify for best ending (doesn't that require collecting all stars or something?). I also think that if a run's best ending is the fastest version, then no branch name is necessary (although it can be reflected in movie categories).

Yeah, it does normally require collecting the stars (one of which takes about two hours to get). And that ending (no stars reaching the princess) is also the fastest.

By whom? And how can it be a "best ending" if it gives the exact same ending sequence as not exploding the princess? That strikes me as contraditory.

It doesn't, there's a long cutscene if you don't explode her that is clearly designed as an ending (of sorts) to the game. In both cases, the game moves to an epilogue afterwards, but IMO the ending has already happened.

I was considering and thinking but: [1663] GBA Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced "N. Tropy" by wwmarx in 34:19.83 Is technically best ending due to the fact you need to reach N-Tropy and defeat him to fix everything... compared to just beating Tranced. Also on par with that game would that mean a Tranced run be acceptable? For it, or would it just be 101% and defeating Trophy?
