Are there any games that both support the link cable and people are actually interested in TASing? Please include the number of possible players with any response. There's one in the wishlist, and that's Zelder: Four Swords (2-4 players).

I know the Pokémon games would be a popular option to support. Fire Red/Leaf Green has this WiFi adaptor that lets you play with up to Thirty-Nine (39) other players in a "Union Room" but normally it's five (5) players max with a normal link cable. I don't know of that many link cable compatible games that would benefit at all from link play in a TAS. Some games support link play and it would be nice for casual users/players.

I'd be interested in seeing what you could pull off with 2 player co-op in Sonic Advance 3. Afaik, at the bare minimum you'll be able to pull off both characters tag actions in a stage rather than just the one. Also as as a not too serious option you'll be able to access the Sonic Battle mini games. Some of those could be decent quick videos.

Four Swords is 2-4 players. You can't even play it without a link cable. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror is 1-4 players.

Yeah, those massive pictures are completely necessary to drive in the point that there's no reason to actually ask how many players each game needs when the first post gives a number high enough to account for every game posted thereafter. I seriously doubt that any GBA game worth TASing multiplayer would need more than four players anyway. Unless there's some complicated bullshit that requires completely different coding for each game, there's no reason to project your own shortcomings onto everyone else by breaking the forums with massive pictures.

It would be great to have a list of GBA games that uses Link Cable and how it affects gameplay. Obviously there are more demanding games like Amazing Mirror and Four Swords, but there are also more obscure games that could bring added functionality via Link Cable. In fact, there are GBA games that can link to a different GBA game. For Example: Megaman Battle Network 4 can link to Megaman Zero 3 to get a chip that would be impossible to get otherwise. I also found this material wich may be helpful to understand more about the subject. http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/916598-game-boy-advance/faqs/18425

I'm asking these questions to gauge the interest level in GBA link cable TASing, as I'm thinking about coding link cable TASing for Bizhawk's upcoming GBA core. I created a link cable TASing core for original game boy, but it hasn't seen much use at all. I'm not mad or disappointed at that, but there are a lot of things that I could be doing, and it is important to me to know to what extent these features would be used in a GBA link cable core. The GBA has multiple accessories you can plug into the link cable port, as well as different ways to operate the port itself. Each one has its own cost of implementation. For instance, it's highly unlikely that I'll be implementing emulation of the wifi device, as it's quite a bit of complexity for little TAS or casual play value, and the game given supports other methods of interconnect as well. Then there's the 2 player standard cable vs the 4 player cable, and the fact that running even just 4 GBA cores at once could be rather taxing on a system. So while I do intend to add 2 player support through a standard link cable, the extent to which I work on other linking possibilities, with more players involved, depends a lot on community interest. So yes, it is important for me to see that each game listed has information with it about the multiplayer capabilities and benefits. I could, given a game name, Google it and find out myself, but you're the ones advocating these games as being interesting to play on a linked GBA, so why not provide that information yourselves?

iirc super mario bros. minigame for the advance mario remakes have a 2P option. Telefang games would be 2P as well like pokemon and Megaman battle network. There's a small list of wifi adapter games here, which also implies link cable usage, but I'm unfamiliar with most of them listed.

You can TAS it for GB right now iirc. And for GBA too but only if natt decides to code it, and this thread is for him to decide.

I'm not sure you can do NO$GBA with Hourglass for 4P GBA games. GCN-GBA connection may not be possible right now. Probably by 2020 we would get it perfected. For example of GCN-GBA, there's Four Swords Adventures and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. As of right now, there are problems related to GCN-GBA play. FF:CC won't connect at all, Pokemon Colosseum won't connect the GBA Pokemon. Haven't tested Animal Crossing, Wind Waker, Rebel Strike, Everything or Nothing, NASCAR Thunder 2003, and Pac-Man VS.

Sonic Advance 1/2 also have a GCN-GBA connection for Tiny Chao Garden.
