3 of 15, and I honestly don't care if it's NES or SNES either.

But if he does this game, then it might prevent him from doing a cooler game. How about an SMK TAS, Phil, or maybe a Link's Awakening TAS (without the warp glitch)? If you're not up for either of those 2, then I'll be the 5th person who wants to see a warpless SMB2J TAS.

6/15. Does the SNES version include those glitches like walking through walls?

7/15 no SNES unless it can be done just as fast (or faster) than the nes hack

I don't think the NES version is a hack, it's just the Japanese Version.

I say go for it on All Stars. Gets 'em all in one fell swoop. Kick some ass, dude. This is one of those "Wanted to see for forever" type things for me. >>

Yeah, go for it, count me in the 15. I've been wanting to see Phil demonstrate his tool-assisted expertise on this game. NES or SNES, I really don't care, heck, do 'em both... :)

Count me in among the 15. The version doesn't matter too much, I imagine there's more bugs to exploit in the NES version, but All-Stars has the bonus of being able to do all the levels at once. Granted, you COULD play through the NES version, get to and complete World 9, then die once as you only have one life there, then restart the game and do Worlds A-D. It would look a bit sloppier, but it could be done on the NES version, and if that version has more entertaining bugs to exploit, I'd use it. The 16-bit graphics and sound of All-Stars don't matter much to me. If there's going to be any All-Star run, I think someone should go through ALL of the Mario games in one movie, since you can restart after finishing one. Perhaps one movie that uses warps in all the games, and one that doesn't, I'm curious as to how long it would take. I'd certainly be interested in em both, anyway, but maybe I'm alone there. EDIT: And to be specific, I'm thinking of the regular All-Stars, not All-Stars + World, since SMW already has its own section, and it wasn't at all changed by being added to All-Stars, whereas the other games are improved graphically.

I wish to see it. I don't care whether it's NES or SNES. There are advantages to both. The SNES version might allow completing all levels at once, but the NES version might have more glitches to abuse.

I'd vote for usage of glitches, but on the other hand it might be much less work with the SNES version and overall the result might be the same. I thought the idea that Spoony_Bard had sounded awesome. Seeing all Mario games (the 4 in SM All stars) completed as fast as possible would be awesome. A long movie maybe but still awesome.

World was changed slightly, giving Luigi distinct sprites from Mario and a few other minor tweaks.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Oh, really? I didn't know that. Ok then, SMW in SMW-Allstars is ALMOST exactly the same, the changes don't seem to warrent including that in a full SMB Time Attack. ;)

I'm not even sure the changes in the other games are worth it. You may as well do the Super Mario Bros. DX/Advance games.

The GBC/GBA games are even more altered. Though I suppose any one of them could be tackled, but you couldn't do the SMB2j levels on SMBDX since you'd need a predefined save ram for it. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the GB-incarnations. The voices and other little things are a nice touch, but I just don't like the smaller screen. But that's just me. The benefit to using All-Stars, though, would be to put all four games on one SMV file. It would be a lengthy undertaking, but it would be really cool.

If this is headed for another MMX1&2 with smb1 and the lost levels, i'm just going to start crying now. And anyway, is there any way back to the title screen after you clear one of the games in that cartridge? I haven't played it in years, but I seem to remember having to reset the console to get it to play a different one...
YtterbiJum, on SMB3: I've tried 20+ times and it always desyncs there. Unless, of course, Genisto meant to die, use a star on the map screen, go in a pipe, and jump around till time runs out.

No, when you reach the end of the game, you're given an option to save and quit, thus taking you back to the title screen. At least that's the way it is in plain ol All-stars, I've never played All-stars+World myself.
