Hi, there's an argument in a thread so I'm obligated to post in it. Oops!
Moronic: It's your right to not submit the TAS here, but your apprehension is based on your own misunderstanding. The choice of emulator itself isn't what got you flamed. It was your stubborn refusal to change and your lack of real reasoning behind it. There's no issue in submitting the TAS here, it's still an accepted emulator and all that, and no one would have forced you to change 7 months into an 8 month project. I wouldn't personally push a, what, 5-ish(?) hour N64 TAS made in Mupen on the encoders, as it sounds like absolute hell for them, but it's not like it wouldn't be allowed or anything.
You're still being stubborn about it right now, pushing the opinions of a couple posters toward the entire site. Maybe at some point you'll realize that the thing people don't like about you is your attitude, but if my previous experiences with stubborn people who TAS popular Nintendo 64 games has told me anything, then you'll probably ignore me and just leave the site, coming back to post nothing but petty arguments and blatant hatred toward the site staff.
I hope you won't stoop to that level, though.
Bottom line is, people ultimately don't mind your choice of emulator as long as you provide a good reason for it. The only time people would ever force you to switch will be when/if Mupen is deprecated and not accepted, and even then that would only prevent you from submitting the run here. We assume that if you're posting here, then you at least have some interest in submitting to the site, and as a whole we'd like the submission process to be as painless as possible.
Though I may be blunt in how I bring up my statements in this post, I mean no harm from them. I even apologize for my behavior in that previous altercation, even though I'm pretty sure I completely stopped caring about the argument after my last post in this thread. My intent here is merely to inform, not to enrage.
There will always be jackasses on every site. They don't speak for a community. The last thing I want is to make people believe that my negative behavior is indicative of the rest of the site. You can tell quite easily that there are a lot of people on the site, let alone in this thread, who are optimistic and supportive. That's how the community as a whole really is.
The beauty of being human and having a conscience is that you don't have to listen to people who are just insulting you. You don't even have to listen to me right now, though I'd like to think that this time I brought up my opinions in a more agreeable way, and I'd rather you at the very least take in what I have to say and think about it, even if you ultimately choose to ignore it.
Zarma: As I said, that's not entirely correct. The community asked nicely at first, from what I remember. Moronic had every right to say he didn't want to switch to a different emulator after working on a TAS for months. There's no fault in that. The problem, as I stated, was his attitude in return to our comments.
I'm not saying either side was right or wrong. We as a community had the right to ask him to change, he had the right to tell us why he didn't want to. He was wrong to bring up that reason in the way he did, and we were wrong in responding to that stubbornness with insults and general negative backlash, and from there I assume it spiraled downward. I wouldn't actually know, I haven't cared enough to check this thread since my last post in it.
AngerFist: Your comment was fine. I don't know why you got all that sarcastic backlash. It was pretty much the exact same thought I was having. The reasoning is out on the table now, at least, in case you want to watch it now.
Everyone responding to AngerFist: Chill. It's not even an issue. I took his initial comment to be more of "The author's behavior is suspicious, I'd like to see some reasoning before I commit to watching their incredibly lengthy run." It's a valid thought to have, considering the author's past behavior. A little rude, maybe, but nowhere near worth starting an argument over. It's not like he said "I have absolutely no interest in watching this run" or anything like that.
Sure, he's calling the author a prick, but if you take a step back and look at it from a different perspective, you can see that it's actually kind of warranted. Content creation doesn't forgive the creator's behavior, you don't have to blindly shower them with praise or attack anyone with even a slightly negative outlook. You can still love the work they produce while admitting they're kind of a jerk. It doesn't have to be said, but if it is said, it doesn't have to be disproved.
Everyone I didn't address: Hi there! How are you doing? You're making posts! That's super great! I have absolutely no idea what to say to you! Okay! Bye!
In closing: The run will be posted here in video form once all the kinks are worked out and I'm sure that a lot of people will enjoy it. There's no harm in not submitting it to the site, though it would have been nice to have the reason from the beginning instead of all the cryptic comments. Everything will be worked out in time.
Also Moronic, you're having problems with the video because you used Mupen. Switch to Bizhawk and it'll be much easier. *drops mic, walks out of room*

*picks mic back up* I'm kidding.
EDIT: I take too long to write posts, jeez.
ALAKTORN: BizHawk uses a better version of Mupen for its N64 core. If I remember correctly, it's more accurate in regards to lag emulation, and it's much easier for encoders to work with.
I'd like to see the M64 posted as well, even if it's not a submission. I can't say I have any personal interest in it as I'm not an OoT TASer, but there are a lot of people who would love to examine it.
