Samsara: I literally heard of this game for the first time about an hour ago. Apparently it's a homebrew game? Public domain or something. Someone longplayed it. Maybe it was a shortplay. Let's compromise and call it a mediumplay. Sounds good.
In lieu of actual comments about a game I know nothing about, I'm going to tell you all a story. A grand story, passed down to me from my grandmother, and to her from my grandmother's grandfather, and to him from my grandmother's grandfather's second aunt twice removed. Join me as I whisk you all away to a whimsical fantasy universe and sing unto you the story of this run's creation:
<arandomgameTASer> SamsaraTF: TAS the first level and I'll TAS the rest
Ah, what a wonderful story. Very much prophetic in the olden days. I hope that you too will pass this down to your children and keep the tale alive for as long as humanly possible. Records of this tale shall be recovered by superhumans, millions of years from now, as a sign of how life in our time used to be.
True to our glorious tale, I did indeed TAS the first level in about 10 minutes and arandomgameTASer TASed the rest in about 20. Why did we do it? I'm not sure. I don't think I'll ever be sure. Did you know that "Chase" and "Vault" have the same amount of letters? Now you can't unsee it.

lmao

Can we get real here for a sec

Samsara: No. Well... okay.
Movement is fixed, game's all about minimizing squares walked on. Video games are art. Ferris Bueller gifs. I'm too lazy to find them. I spent more time writing this submission text than I did TASing the game. What am I doing with my life?

Why did two people need to TAS this

Why did you cancel 2015, 2016, and 2017's TAS of the Year?

Samsara: Non-notable homebrew, indistinguishable from real time play, terrible submission thread. Mostly the former two.

Can I get a source for this claim?

He's probably referring to the Twin Galaxies thing from a few weeks back where they were advertising that they'd livestream people beating that for the FIRST TIME EVARRRR. Except that it turned out they weren't using the original game version, so... http://www.classicarcadegaming.com/forums/index.php?topic=6368.0 Edit: Ugh, links

Let me point out, that would only be the arcade version. The NES version (unless this is an FCEUX issue) does not produce the kill screen. I was able to get into a loop where I can copy my input for the entire game. There was no sign of a kill screen.

This game looks about as fun to watch as watching someone vacuum a carpet.

Holy shit that was so annoying. Had to go through this so many times trying to manipulate the enemies, and every time I manipulated them away at one spot, they hit me at the next one. Jesus Christ. 19 empty steps, old was 25; 67 frames saved for a total save of 159 frames. 01:10.48 finish. I kind of think the TAS is perfect now but you can never know. Disregarding enemies it might be possible to do 1 or 2 steps better for level 5, but 19 is my record both with and without enemies. Edit: Porco dio I fucked up the movie file gotta find it again. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/24955764634818867 I messed around with this a bunch. It was a TAS project file (even though it didn't start nor was supposed to end as one), so I removed the GreenZone files stuff and renamed it to plain .bk2.
