I'm reposting what ribshark (original founder) said:
I just found a proper debugging leftover in the GameCube version of this. A while back I was saying how pressing Enter in Fairy Council 1 stopped Murfy, and in Desert of the Knaaren 4, caused the text "Salle 01" to appear. Well it was found that pressing Start+R in the Gamecube version had the same effect. However, today I found that if you hold Start+R in DotK4 so the "Salle 01" text appears, while holding that if you press up or down on the D-Pad it will change numbers, up to "Salle 05". If you then press left on the D-Pad, it will teleport you to a location depending on the number. 01: Start of the level. 02: Next to the egg in the maze-like area. 03: Behind the door blocking the exit to the aforementioned maze area. 04: Just before the area where Rayman has to navigate the green lava. 05: In (yes in) the room where the Reflux cutscene takes place.
Basically, it seems to be kinda debug glitch they left as it's not translated, but we don't know if we should accept it. My understanding is that debug menus and debug codes are in the same league as cheat codes. Not in the spirit of TASing. It would be like using the debugger console in an unassisted run. (It's generally not considered a valid.)

I agree too.

As you're talking about non-TAS, it is outside of the jurisdiction of TASVideos (or TASing in general, for that matter), so in that context nothing said here needs to be taken as law for "accepting" anything. For something like that, take it up with the community of the game in question (you didn't actually specify this, other than that it's a GameCube game with Rayman in it), or if there is none, with a broader RTA community such as SDA, SRL, speedruns.com or whatever you intend to involve your run with. That aside, this is clearly usage of debug codes, without any glitch being involved to access it, and therefore TASVideos would not accept it, and probably neither would most other speedrunning communities. So in short, no.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Let's see here... This is the TASVideos forum, and you are were in the General part of it. When I read the post it seemed like it was pretty game-specific, but since this is was the General forum, I thought maybe it's more of a question about debug features in general and if they are allowed in TASes. Though, I didn't really understand the quote, as there is no mention about the actual game being talked about. Then I saw the strawpoll link, thus making a discussion thread about this pointless. (If you decide by poll, why discuss. If you decide by discussion, why post the link?)
PS: It's SPEEDRUN WISE! (non TAS!)
This is not something you add as a postscript!
Warning: Might glitch to credits I will finish this ACE soon as possible (or will I?)

Link to video 1) In the future, when there's a video link in the strawpoll, please also put in the video instead of just putting in the strawpoll. Context is very important! 2) I agree with what the others have said - this appears to be the deliberate activation of a debug function, and should not be used in speedruns.

Okay, thanks :)
