sorry for take so long to aswer: no, remember that I said that I am (well, was in the past) a expert on the street ex. I just din't remember if there is a way to do a random select on arcade. if I press start the game get out of the select screen, besides that I tried pres select and select+up/down and nothing happens. L1, L2,R1 and R2 all just choose the character. Now I will have to make some tests to find who would be the most fast or fun to make the tas

Ok, I din't find any tutorial on how utilize to make a tas with this pcsxrr emulator. I din't find here on this forum, on the page of downloads, on the emulator site, on google... so where I can find a tutorial on how to utilize this emulator? tought that maybe I could deduce/discover how to utilize him, but when the game begins to run the emulator buttons just disappear.

Ah, it starts from a savestate... you don't need the iso to watch it. Just play it with any cd or without any and it works!
This fact is amazing. That means you can have a TAS of a whole track in Ridge Racer starting from a savestate then and don't need the CD (Except that you don't get music, but you can use any audio CD instead).

I had question about whether or not a cheat code to unlock all the characters can be used for a versus mode playaround or would you prefer that I just make a verification movie like with Tekken. Just asking to make sure which option could be used.

Verification would be preferable. Or having a memory card.

Spikestuff: Thanks I will do the same thing with my Tekken movie then Grassini: Yeah it's an ingame code, because Action Replay/GameShark codes are pretty much banned indefinitely from any TAS for obvious reasons.

That's not entirely true, but if everything can be unlocked in-game then it'd be much better to do that for the verification movie.

i'd personally prefer the tas to be "verification file movie"-less instead of having a complete save file to do it. clear memory TAS ftw

…What is this even about? I only watched the last video, but it looks like you’re going through tutorials with a bunch of characters, it doesn’t look well optimized and doesn’t look entertaining either.

Perhaps if you read the rest of the thread, you would have some idea of what is going on. As for the comment on optimization, the fact that the moves are generally hitting their last hit on the new training task appearing suggests that optimization is a key factor in this work. If you want to prove that you can do better, open your emulator, acquire the ROM, and show everyone up.

I’m not really seeing anything. He’s going through a bunch of tutorials, but I don’t understand whether it’s a playaround or a speedrun, because it seems to fail on both accounts.

I’ll try not to laugh at this, because after watching Ryu’s stuff (second to last video, beginning of vid), there is optimization in there, but there are also things that I really don’t think had “speedrun” in mind when they were done. For example, why do the Shinkū Tatsumakisenpūkyaku at 0:43 right after the Shinkū Hadōken? It’s not part of either the current nor the tutorial that comes right after, so it just looks like a waste of time. That makes me think this is an attempt at a playaround, and optimization is NOT a “key factor in this work”.

alaktorn is on fire lately, but tatsumaki did end the animation of the move earlier, this is a speedrun of the tutorial mode, combos are ended as soon as possible and minimize the number of hits by whiffin parts of the moves or setting up for a faster move next

At 0:43 like you said, I have do that skill for save time. You can watch Dowg-Fury's TAS for know reason And of course, I have aim fastest in this run
