Since I find the Atheist thread stupid and I'm not religious, I decided to make this topic. The way I see an agnostic, it's somebody that neither believes nor disbelieves what God is. This of course can vary. So yeah go ahead and chat you crazy munchkins.

You refer to Plato's Theory of Forms. It is a cornerstone of early metaphysics, but Immanuel Kant, Kurt Gödel and Ludvig Wittgenstein have pointed out some fundamental limitations of language and thought, which might ultimately break apart all metaphysical theories. Would you say: "I believe that a god exists." If you would not say that, then you are an atheist by definition. It's that simple. You can deny it all you like, but that doesn't change the facts. "I'm not an atheist, I'm an agnostic" is an oxymoron. It's like saying "I'm not European, I'm German." You can be an agnostic and an atheist at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive. They just deal with different questions. (And in fact, most atheists are arguably agnostic.)

Warp: there are different definitions for agnostic. While you are using the one I consider to be the most technically correct, many use it to mean someone who neither believes there is a god nor believes there is not a god, rather than someone in a state of not-knowing regardless of their belief of lack of. Besides, for many atheists, atheism is actively believing that no god exists rather than not believing that a god exists. While the difference is subtle, it's still there, and so I'd argue it's possible to be neither a theist nor an atheist.
