Sup? Imagine a potato... a tater... thingy... inside a maze, pushing blocks and encountering turnstiles. That's pretty much what this game is all about.

Also known as Puzzle Boy 2 in Japan, the game is just like Kwirk except with more content; modes, puzzles. On the other hand, puzzles seem to be more straightforward and generally smaller in size. This movie completes the puzzle mode, the only completely deterministic mode in the game. Kwirk calls this mode as going up mode, by the way.
Step counts a.k.a. points and times for each level.

Tompa: Replaced the movie file with a 6 frames faster version. Claimed for judging.
Tompa: It's fun to try to solve the puzzle yourself while watching, only to sometimes see a different approach being made and you get lost. I personally the combination of the music together with the sound effects!
Gameplay and puzzle solving was solid enough for an Accept to the Vault!

I actually wanted to make a temp encode myself, seeing that after ~2 days, it received no feedback whatsoever, but oh well. Anyway, it seems like the TAS is pretty optimal, but it's not really entertaining to watch. Therefore, I'm going to vote No on entertainment. It may be good for the Vault, though.

Oh, I've never known that another version of Kwirk was available! Loved this puzzle. Voted Yes!

Sooo... bad news. I was wathing the encode and realized that there's... pretty obvious and stupid flaw in one of the levels. Sorry. Fixing... Edit: fortunately the flaw wasn't so bad after all, saved only 6 frames. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/26246348358378787 But still, better be extra thorough from now on. And I hope that was the only mistake left in the run.

If one level turns out to be suboptimal, the question is; what about the other levels? Even though the movie is heavily optimized I cannot guarantee, after a serious flaw like that, the movie is up to standards. Therefore, cancelling. I'm sorry I wasted your time.

Runs don't have to be perfect, they just have to beat all known records. You're being waaaay too hard on yourself, man. Canceling is your choice, but you shouldn't let a mistake in one level out of umpteen-many discourage you that much.

Fine then. Uncancelled, but only because I found the rest of the movie to be flawless. And sorry in advance.

It's not the most exciting game, but it's pretty good to follow for a puzzle game I haven't played before, like Kwirk. The bobbing motion and sound effects of the main player get annoying, and I wish there was more than one song in the background, but the puzzles are solid and look efficiently done. The multi-character puzzles are usually quite interesting. I can't generally give puzzle games a Yes vote, due to their repetitive nature, but I'd say this gets a positively-tinted Meh vote from me. Nice job optimizing it too! And for the record, as boct said, movies don't have to be flawless. They just have to beat known records. Some puzzle games have had rather large improvements over time, like the Lolo series, though those have more action elements in them too.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Tompa, are you still intending to judge this one?

Vault is appropriate for this style of game. there's no superhuman skill shown, just good route planning. There' no luck or reflexes involved at all, and no glitches used. if a different mode is played, then luck manipulation could be shown off, which should make it more interesting from a TAS perspective.

That was fun. I was conflicted on what to rate for technical, since while it's incredibly easy to follow the route once you know the optimal path, finding the optimal path is not trivial. In terms of entertainment, these games messed with me when I was young, so it's quite satisfying seeing them beaten quickly.
