This is only a quick 20 minute work, so I'm sure it can be made a bit nicer in some areas, but there you go. EDIT: Alternate version (cropped down) with caption (using the font by samurai goroh)

Maybe it's just me, but I'm still of the opinion that the bsod image just doesn't work. It's not very recognizable without the blue color nor the typical shape of the overall text, and there is too much text to be read in such a short period of time.

Note that we can edit the delay for the image for as long as we like. The plan is to let the BSOD on screen for significantly longer, as if TASBot had 'crashed'.

We will also be drawing it line by line so people will have time to read it as we write it. It won't all suddenly appear on screen at the same time requiring them to quickly read it before it goes away.

He will then reboot, and during the boot up screen we'll display a message like "Gaining Sentience...". Then following the boot up we'll display another message that says "TASBot has recovered from a serious error". After that TASBot will greet the crowd, and will have "full control" over the game and what he draws.
Instead of us disorderly humans, if TASBot sought to speak with something sentient, the first encounter would invariably lie with something more at its bit depth. To foster reaction from the audience, TASBot could identify herein as having always been a girl gamer at heart, and then proceed to romance other A.I. specimen in the room—GDQ Monitor. Some digital banter between those two would allow for better storytelling, and maybe the inevitable third-party ebotica. The slow-moving twitter account would need an update. I've registered @MrsTASBot before anyone takes it prematurely.

I am all good with continuing the banter but as keeper of TASBot I refuse to consent to streaming ebotica. :)

Sure, but check with micro500 or I before starting some kind of shipping or other story as we have a specific direction we are taking TASBot and I need to further coordinate with GDQMonitor's keeper before we get in too deep.

I haven't tried yet, but what if we use this as one of the answers?

I didn't realize "pffff whatever" was an actual reference. I figured you just meant that we were sort of giving up on the problem, and at that point the game accepts our giving up as the answer. I'll admit I don't get the reference, so can you link to a video/videos that show what you're talking about? The thing is that xy2_ and I put in a lot of work getting that drawing to work the way it does. It would not be a simple task to just change the ? to the "pffff whatever" text. I'm inclined to leave it the way it is, unless others really want to see it changed.

I tried, and I only found this, which is still quite close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JILEV9OLPqA&t=1273 Included a few seconds before he says that, to make it at least understandable what it refers to. Question mark feels like some undefined pessimism, and I see no joke there, while "pfff whatever" is careless glitch abuse, hinting that literally whatever can fit.

I swapped the last two lines of the error message. I think I am comfortable with it now.

WIP Link to video I skipped over two answers (before and after the TASBot OS screen) because I didn't have those drawn up yet.

For the error message, since the lines overflow, I think there should be a pause before each new line starts, while the pencil sound continues to go, no visible change is made on screen for about a second, then the next line starts. That way it looks like TASbot is continuing to write, but doesn't have the space to show what's being written. I think that would add a little authenticity. That said, I think this is great work. I like how it starts out answering the questions for real, too.

I thought about that too. I may play with the idea a bit, but the answer already takes almost 30 seconds to draw as it is and I'd rather not drag it out any longer. In other news, TASBot had an error

I'm not quite convinced with the results, text looks like bold compared with the original, but that's simple because of the restrictions... And that animated error window is priceless, loved it :D

Since the joke is mostly going to be sold by the commentators reactions, I'd say that you can get away with the message lasting longer. You need time for the commentators to notice the error, panic, reassure the audience that they'll fix it, and discuss what they might do before the answer finally clicks through and everything continues as normal. That will take some time. Also, I think the surprise from this skit happening in the first place and the initial confusion while the audience tries to process it and decide whether or not it's an act will allow it to last longer. Seriously, do this right and time it right, it will get one of the biggest reactions of the entire Brain Age run, and I feel the right timing will be even longer than what you have right now (try practicing your commentary over it. See what happens. You want a pause after you go and start fiddling with the cables before the answer comes up as right.)
