What is the purpose of jumping through the door when entering the Speed Booster passage? It doesn't look like you get through the door any earlier, and surely landing slows you down? Is it lag reduction somehow?

the door transition loads faster if the door is centered on the screen for realtime focused runs.

Yeah, like Garrison said, it's to get the screen in a good position for the transition. Ingame time is lost to that in tons of rooms throughout the WIP, but that is one of the more obvious cases. Another is the jump before entering minikraid's room.

I'm not sure if this will work or not but, its an idea I just thought of that might work to trigger a Flash Suit not sure if you guys tested it yet. If you morph then unmorph through an Enemy Pod like the ones in Norfair and then take damage from the enemy will it trigger a Flash Suit like the Slope Spark?

Any frozen enemy or object that you can get inside its hitbox, works as a "slope" to get a flash suit, but you need another enemy to knock Samus back.

I know you can get glitched inside of the pod where the spore spawn super missiles are in pink brinstar by morph un-morphing actually I think you can turn into it to get glitched in from what I remember. So the enemy is essentially provided for the knock back. Its interesting but, not sure if it would be useful depending on location.

Damn! This is one of those circunstances where I love to be proven wrong! If it works with any beam, then it would be really helpful in a certain place! Really nice to see you back, Taco!!! Edit: Yup, it works with Wave, but it seems it will not help in the place I wanted.

If you look at the forum thread, there was a race of this hack done -- with the item randomizer turned on, even. The hack is more than just a 90° rotation; the terrain has been changed at points (including the removal of all shoot-to-open gates) and underwater physics were adjusted.

Based on watching some of a playthrough on Twitch, the platforms have been rotated so you can use them and they take you sideways.

Today, the 13.01.2016, Sniq, Tewtal and me broke the 14% item-limit for TAS, for NTSC inbounds without major glitches.
