This is a Famicom bootleg of Pokemon Yellow. FCEU and FCEUX has a reset bug, the latter being during playback. It won't run on VirtuaNES, it may not run on Nestopia. It's not compatible with Nintendulator yet. I used Mednafen to run the game and it works perfectly. This game can be TASed using Mednafen.

This pirate is strangely interesting. Though it would help if its ROM title didn't look like a Chinese mantra. (Chinese name is 雷电皇: 比卡丘 传说, or Lightning King: Pikachu Legend) It does seem to have a better quality than other pirates. However, its music is very much lacking. BTW, I never came across the reset bug, and was able to record something without problem. Using FCEUX v2.1.4a. I also saw on Youtube other awful pirate games that resemble Pokemon games like "Kou Dai Bao Shi - Yin" ("Pokemon Silver" Pokemon Sapphire) and "Waixing Pokemon Red". The latter in particular has really funny graphical issues.

By "reset bug" you mean the infamous FCEUX bug where hard resets spontaneously appear in the movie? If so, just grab the newest SVN release build, as that bug has been fixed there (and it will likely sync with 2.1.5 anyway).

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Current versions of Mednafen-rr are grossly broken for anything except PCE and PCECD, so you would first have to locate a version that could rerecord NES... Basically, the issue is that it tries to record any platform it supports to .mc2, but MC2 can only represent PCE and PCECD, so in the end it fails to record anything.

The reset bug has been fixed in FCEUX 2.2.0, I officially declare that this game is open to TASing.

There's this Yellow bootleg that's actually pretty good. It has a bunch of elements from the actual Pokemans games, and it looks pretty. It also has an english translation hack that's going pretty well, so a vault worthy TAS could be made with it.

So a finished english patch was released yesterday: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2478/ I'm still not sure if a TAS using this translation is acceptable, but whatever, just throwing that out there.

I would love to see a tas of this game. Even if it was just the original bootleg. Its been said that's one of the best bootlegs you can get. Very resembling to the original and it has color to it. If anyone is interested in ffvii nes bootleg, I'm all for that too. Just avoid the multi target attacks and just hope for misses. Then we can see the lowest level possible to beat that game. Use the shitty original version too!

InfamousKnight very likely created a separate topic when he posted and a mod just merged them together.

Kurabupengin actually was the one who created the separate topic.
