Hey I was wondering, is there a way to use rewind with recording a movie? Like if I die, I rewind to before I die, dodge the baddie, then keep going, but on the video side it just looks like I dodged the baddie the first time....or would I have to use save states etc

Rewind's disabled when TASing due to instability. Use save states for that.

Rewind can be enabled, but it may cause issues with RAM usage.

You can't enable rewind while recording a movie.

The closest you can get to a rewind system while recording a movie is by using TAStudio.

And the rewind hotkey does work in it! But mouse wheel (with right button held down) provides better navigation means.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
