About this game

This is a shooting game released by Square in 1997. For details, please read here

Emulator

  • PSXjin v2.0.1
  • SCPH-1000

Abuses programming errors

Weapon's attack determination keeps remaining, it causes damage per frame. This glitch is available for a part of weapons.

About ROM version

Above glitch may work on only (J) version. Of course, I tried on (U) version, but it didn't succeed. And, weapon's number of ammos is different from between them.

Uses hardest difficulty

There are three types difficult Easy, Normal and Hard. On only (J) version, Free easier than Easy is available.

GabCM: Added YouTube module and 60 fps streaming link.
Mukki: Judging, though I will allow some time for more feedback. So let's hear some!
Mukki: Not incredible response, but nothing particularly negative. Some of the response was very enthusiastic and that swings it. Accepted.
Velitha: Will probably publish this tomorrow when I get back home.

Welcome to the TASVideos site, la mammal! You've made a really impressive post about this game. I thank you, and some other posters in this forum, for clarifying some details to me about how things work with this game, and for putting runs like these into perspective. Posts like yours can make a lot of difference :-) I still would be interested in seeing more variety in weapon usage in another run, but I'm glad for now that this is getting published.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

While I've did pretty much every encode needed for publication, I can't publish it. The downloadable encode's size is too big for publication. Its size/second ratio is something like 13.2 MB/s, while it had to be 10 MB/s. Unfortunately, I don't have what it takes to reencode it this week-end, and I've also planned to encode [1779] Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by FuzZerd, Sonikkustar, upthorn & Aglar in 18:42.37 in HD. So... I have to open the door for another publisher, so it can be published faster.

Nobody published it yet. As I said, I can't upload the torrent file I've made in the publishing form. It's mainly due to the higher-than-average resolution (512x480), because of the ending, and I don't want to lower the quality for that, I want to stay in the quality standards. So here's all the stuff you need for publication, if you can publish torrents with a higher Mb/s ratio. Archive page Mirror link YouTube Torrent (Length: 38:16) Screenshot (Optimized)

This movie has been published. The posts before this message apply to the submission, and posts after this message apply to the published movie. ---- [1785] PSX Einhänder by sparky in 31:29.93

Velitha's encode seems to be oddly colored. Everything leans toward the blue end of the color spectrum. http://img825.imageshack.us/i/einhndertassparkymp4sna.jpg/

I'm going to be redoing this encode. I'm also going to be making a 10-bit and a proper 512 as I don't trust the 512 I made with direct264. This will probably take 3-4 days as I'm redoing a large portion of my batch and encoding script to accommodate new features. Stay tuned.

"An issue has been identified with the encode involving the color quality. Whereas when an object should be displayed as blue, it shows up red instead, or vice-versa." Video was last encoded with YUV420 using the MP4 container format. The U ans V axes are swapped

I don't know if this is where I should say, but I'm *pretty* sure that the 'Einhander' in the title refers not to the sword, but the fact the ship has...one hand.
