Comments

I have done this run several months ago, and I waited until someone submit a run for the same branch with no result, so I decided to submit it now, after asking in the forum, ars4326 told me that is good
So enjoy the run again. I may add some comments later

Fog: Judging...
Replacing the movie file with a 546 frame improvement using the Japanese version of the game.
Fog: Great run, and the audience seems to agree. Accepting to Moons!

The run looks pretty good to me. It seems like your run is comparable in speed to The Brookman's run in comparable places. The fight against Flyer was my favorite. This should be a good any% run to go with the 100% run. Out of curiosity, what are the minimum requirements to meet Phalanx?

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. I think that the minimum to meet Phalanx is to complete at least the 4 stages. As the RTA speedruners complete the game in the same way. Man, you always ask which is a very great thing, I like that

No problem! I haven't had a chance to find a copy of this game for myself, so I haven't played it. I think GameFAQs illustrated the minimum route needed to reach Phalanx, but I didn't check on that too closely. It would be cool if a TAS could skip more stages, like the ones which only give you life extensions.

is the emulator accepted?
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Let's see how many pages (from Front Page) it takes to find your answer. *Clicks Emulators* One. (4) Movies using Snes9x v1.43 are not accepted unless a continuance is granted. Movies using Snes9x v1.51 or newer are accepted but the emulator is deprecated.

not bad at all, the run looks clean and fairly fast for what honestly can be called a low% run in all honestly cause this gets the bare minimum to get the bad ending as its called, imho I think an any% run would get the 2nd ending since there are a total of 3 endings that im aware of here, this being the bad and the 100% being the best. now with this in mind i thought the rules to getting this ending was different then just going through the 1st 4 levels but its been a long time since ive played this game, thought it was just beating 3 or 4 bosses but i could be wrong, yes vote

I would like to replace the movie with one that is 9.09 seconds faster. It uses the japanese version. Reason for (J) ver: Taking down the first dragon needs only 3 hits instead of 6 hits which saves 9 seconds Link: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/29370416005776866 PS: replace the encode module with this one: [module:youtube|v=5i-w1SZNSe8]

authorizing use of the Japanese rom as a means of saving time in the first boss fight and also likely in any text scrolling seems like it basically obsoletes the 100% run. also snes9x renders the game with significantly less lag than is accurate compared to bsnes from my experience which would affect future publications using more accurate emulation, no?

No, the more accurate emulator would be preferred for future publications. As for text scrolling, if using the Japanese version only improved the time because of faster text scrolling, the US version would be preferred. But because it saves time with the first dragon fight, it's an acceptable version of the game.

The Brookman: it shouldn't matter. If the only gameplay difference is a few hits on Somulo, just chalk that up to a known improvement. I'd say both versions should be considered acceptable if we know the time difference due to version changes.

Just not the kinda guy I am Mklip, gonna beat this low % first then rerecord the 100% no big deal it was something I was aware of but for some reason thought the US version was preferred.
