This is a NEW RPG created by me. It was created using RPG Maker XP. I was going to release the demo in time for Pokemon's 20th anniversary, but I got busy. I finally got it released today, and I'll continue to work on it until it's fully completed. I'm considering making a sequel too. The download links for the demo are found in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grHVeZT4CR4

-Default assets -Maps are boring to look at, with large amounts of empty space -Battles are just attack as much as possible, status effects plain don't work -Fights are laughably easy, don't even need to heal unless you get poisoned. -Plot makes no sense, and stops giving you directions after you deliver the moon stone. Characters and writing are uninspired. -The forest maze is complete bullshit that is harder then the rest of the game. -You can't save unless the game wants you to, for no reason -Pikachu is way too slow, with no way to run. -Game keeps railroading you instead of letting you have fun. -Can only teleport on the 1-2 tiles on the edge of the screen, instead of just whenever you reach the edge of the screen. -The map is some weird custom thing that makes no sense because it doesn't tell you where you are. 1/10, overall. Complete waste of time in its current state.
effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter - some loser

didn't expect anything else
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Yeah, it's a work in progress. I guess I'll have transfer my project over to RPG Maker VX Ace. I'm trying to make the game linear, but apparently I was trying too hard. I should use scripts that were used in other RPGs made in RPG Maker VX Ace. Final Fantasy I is better than this. I guess I need help with making RPGs using RPG Maker XP. Or if I like, I could use RPG Maker 2003 with the ATB system.

Final Fantasy I is one of the defining games of the RPG genre. You're going to have to do a LOT of work if you intend to be "better".
I am still the wizard that did it. "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." -- Satoru Iwata <scrimpy> at least I now know where every map, energy and save room in this game is

You really don't want to have the game have anything to do with pokemon. Nintendo is just going to shut it down. And that's if they are being nice.

I could make my own RPG inspired by Pokemon. I would use Pokemon Essentials with RPG Maker XP.

The Pokemon Essentials toolkit (that you mentioned) is a good add-on for RPG maker when making a pokemon game. I think that if you used the default settings from that toolbox your game would look a whole lot more pokemon-ish. I've played a few good RPGmaker-pokemon games made with Essentials, such as Reborn and Godra. You should take a look at those two if you haven't already. When you download these games you also get the all RPG maker files, so maybe you can draw inspiration from thos games, and learn some useful and nice RPG maker functions by looking at the files and maps from respective game.

I don't think so. In fact, I never used it ingame. I'll probably re-tool this project, rework all the stuff and do it better. With Pokemon Essentials, I heard someone was working on a fan remake of Shi Kong Xing Shou (Space-Time Galactic Beasts) the game that was originally made by Vast Fame (The ones who made Rockman DX3).
