For a properly implemented hourglass resurrection, should it be possible to run flashplayer.exe? It allows to pass the game as a command line parameter and uses legit keyboard keys and mouse, so in theory it should.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Yes, that should eventually work, what's missing is necessary hooking rather than the pending re-structure.

I wonder if win32 builds of gnash or lightspark will start. Should I send them to you? https://www.dropbox.com/s/u9mzvysgk2is8e6/Warepire.7z?dl=0 Lightspark is Vista+.

It should be noted that the recent interim build is for feedback and testing so Warepire can improve Hourglass Resurrection. You should not be using this release yet for creating submissions.

Is there any place where I can post bugs in Resurrection, or should we post them here?

Here's a list of known issues: https://github.com/Hourglass-Resurrection/Hourglass-Resurrection/issues For new issues, if they are informative, please post them here, no issues of type "Game X doesn't run" without anything useful attached to it.

Tested in Virtualbox. Hourglass-R keeps warning me that the selected .hgr is empty and thus playback is not possible. This happens when opening Hourglass-R (the message sometimes appears twice in a row) and when selecting a .hgr, even if it doesn't exist yet. Sometimes the message appears only if you select a .hgr and then select it again. I think it should give me the message only when attempting to play back. ___ With default settings, I cannot get my games to run. It pretty much looks like what I've been getting with the regular old Hourglass. Reproduction Man runs but the framecounter stays at 0 / 0. Tyler doesn't open at all until the message "the game controlling thread is taking longer than expected" pops up, framecounter also stays at 0 / 0. I don't know if this is because of Hourglass and Hourglass-R failing to run those games, or because of Virtualbox being incompatible, or because DirectX was not available in Virtualbox, or ... ___ If anyone wants to help out, feel free to try running my games of interest in VMWare or on an actual host Windows XP and see if they work.

https://github.com/Hourglass-Resurrection/Hourglass-Resurrection/issues/1 Known, movie handling needs a complete rewrite. Every time you see that the movie is actually reloaded from disk...

Hello, I want to TAS GnarBike Trials, the SWF is available here: http://www.gnarlygames.org/GnarBikeTrials/ I'm not sure how to actually get that running in Hourglass though. Any tips? I assume I at least need to convert it to an executable. you can try the game at: http://www.gnarlygames.org/GnarBikeTrials/GnarBike%20Flash.html It doesn't seem to require a mouse at all. At one point, I was the world champion on the Android version :)

The first post on this page addresses that, you have to tas flashplayer.exe whom you pass the command to launch your game, but the program itself doesn't yet work in hourglassR. It is closed source, so it might be hard to debug, but in theory tasing it might be possible.

Feos, I thought there had been people who had TASed a flash game of snake (iirc). Are you saying it's not yet possible? I thought there may be a way to create an executable from a SWF.

I haven't seen that, if you can find a link to it, maybe I can find out more.

Just test it. If it works, you can TAS it, if it doesn't work, you can't TAS it.
Warning: Might glitch to credits I will finish this ACE soon as possible (or will I?)

A possible logo design: https://www.flickr.com/photos/145504346@N06/shares/Ah6RDn (using flickr because it's free to upload, but doesn't work very well with icon-sized images)
