Chakan the forever man any%
Game objectives:
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Heavy glitch abuse
  • Uses death to save time
  • Genre: Action, Platform
  • Uses warp
Hi,
Yesterday, i played Chakan and found this red and clear potions, in the Earth level, this only optimisation, save 1768 frames and change the "any%" catégorie route planning in comparison to "100%" catégorie.
Indeed, "any%" route, uses warp zone with those potions and breaking all of the first levels for access directly to the 2nd zone.
For more informations refer to the last run: #5042: zoboner's Genesis Chakan: The Forever Man in 11:11.88 or #4594: zoboner's Genesis Chakan: The Forever Man in 11:29.47.

Fog: Judging.
Fog: This is a pretty straight forward improvement.
Accepting as an improvement to the previous publication.
fsvgm777: Processing.

Hi, would it be possible to put up a video encode? There's no hurry, and I'm fine if the answer is No. Also, if I understand your description correctly: the only main change is to instead find the warp spell potions in a different stage? Nice!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:

You are right, and i think this only optimisation is for you a little deception, because it's just a little change and i know you wait to viewed more optimisations for satisfy yourself. You follow this TAS since the start and you know than if i restart my work on chakan for get a new solutions for entertainment and beat the game fastest (if it's possible to do it), i do will on all stages for have a new vision... This year, i have not a time to restart this job, 2 projects take me time, but next year, maybe! It's just an correction for instant, next time, i promice you good show. Thank to follow progress and all of your commentaries on chakan! Temp encode: https://youtu.be/2O8NSQFe6pg

You're welcome, zoboner. Nice improvement! I have never actually played the game myself, but I was always intrigued by the routing options with the any% category. I am quite glad to see how much more efficient this route is. I also don't know if I even saw when the potion pickup happened.
