I have an idea for a new category. It's inspired by Joshimuz's "true 100%+" playthrough of GTA:SA. Link here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnFYuYwRteIM2yQv1nDmK3BL6vLZ2cSY3 and Donkey Kong 64's glitched "max%". Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wmaa3W6Zyk0 I was thinking of something along the same lines but for OoT, but have a more rigorous and consistent definition for what it is. That would be toggle every single user-toggleable bit in the game's save file. So that would entail getting everything that's in OoT 100% but would also include: Get all items Every single item upgrade (50 bomb bag, 50 Deku Stick bag, 50 archery bow bag) All heart pieces, even the glitched ones like in Gerudo Fortress as a kid. Obtain the maximum number of heart pieces that won't break the game Open every chest, since that is saved in the game's file Unlock every door Enter every room of every dungeon, so to make every dungeon blue on the map screen. Get the compass, map, and boss key for every dungeon Trigger all dialogue scenes that can only happen once Set a perfect score for every minigame. For example the race at Lanlan ranch, the running guy, the target game in Kakariko village, The bombchu game, the archery game in Gerudo's Fortress, etc What other things do you think I have missed? Where are some other forums where I could discuss this? Thanks

An exception should definitely be made for that MST TAS so it can be submitted here. It was awesome, and my run is really outdated at this point.

How about no. Cause there was a Year and a half notice about being on a certain list. Which MTA actually requested for not homerfunky.

If you guys are happy having a run that's outdated by 5 years, that's fine. Rules shouldn't be absolute though. It's obvious the site would benefit from publishing the new run.

That's not a new idea, it's called "All Permanent Flags". As far as I know, no one has even routed it yet.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

If homerfunky is willing to submit it, and if there's a publisher willing to publish it (I guess Aktan could, since he made homerfunky's encode to begin with), then I'm willing to consider making an one-time exception to the Mupen block for this TAS.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

And so it happened: #5557: homerfunky's N64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "All Dungeons, Temples & Ganon Trials" in 1:42:29.53

That's "100% No Source Requirement". The world record for that category is just over 3 hours.

It's amazing how they can still find things like this after all these years! I guess this makes the recently published MST TAS outdated again. I wonder if it would be faster now to do Jabu as adult.

The new unrestricted item glitch may potentially obsolete the new MST TAS. I checked myself a bit the glitch, but I don't think the glitch is usable, at least for now, because in order to equip the boomerang as adult, we must either get a spell (forore's wind seems the most convenient ), or either get the pocket egg, and along with which item we took, we must at the same time not get Zelda's letter since it's the item that is selected when we hold down left. The problem with this is that it means that we must also not get Zelda's lullaby, but the lullaby is required at multiple places in this category. We can RBA that song, but RBA is not allowed in MST.

Is there any good reason to ban RBA in MST? If you take a look at 100%, it is allowed to use RBA, as long as you still get every item legitimately. So why not allow it in MST as well, as long as you still get all the stones and medallions legitimately by beating the dungeons?

It's an old category with legacy rules. It also doesn't relly make sense that it has to defeat Ganon, but there it is. For a category with more modern rules look no further than All Dungeons. It can use RBA, GIM and warp to the credits. Btw. I don't really see the problem with getting FW.

1.1 has an oversight in the music. Other than 1.1: In Hyrule Field, Lake Hylia, Zora's River, and Death Mountain Trail, pieces of music for when an enemy is nearby plays when near one in the daytime. When you're still fighting an enemy when the music fades out, the enemy near music won't play until you hear a wolf howl. It will play when encountering another enemy, even before the wolf howl. If you encounter an enemy during sunrise, the enemy near music gets interrupted. These don't apply in Gerudo's Valley and Desert Colossus. In 1.1: In Hyrule Field, Lake Hylia, Zora's River, and Death Mountain Trail, the enemy near music overlaps the fade-out. It also plays whenever you die when it's daytime in said areas. It plays when fighting Gohma's minions, after you deliver the first blow to an Iron Knuckle before Twinrova, and inside Ganon's Castle. Any version: Entering the raining area in Lake Hylia and leaving it before completing the Water Temple causes the music to reset when entering Hyrule Field. Also, the warp in sound doesn't play whenever you warp to Lake Hylia during the day after completing the Water Temple. After learning the Nocturne of Shadow and before completing the Shadow Temple, Go west past the welcome sign in Kakariko Village until the rain stops. Then go the rain trigger, then quickly exit to Hyrule Field and you'll see strange fog. The music will play even at night. To fix this, play the Song of Storms or any warp song. Try encountering an enemy at night in the strange fog in 1.1.

I just stumbled on this video. Does any of our published run has this "special/best ending" with the Running Man using the bunny hat? This info made me realized there's run like this one or this one claiming 100% completion while not getting this "special/best ending".

About the first one, the 100% TAS, it has been spliced in multiple parts (this completely makes the TAS unlegit since they used more than 1 single file to do that TAS) for example, I think they set the Farore's Wind somewhere in Jabu, and when they use it, they appeared somewhere else. so they probably gave the bunny hood in a file, and finished the game in another one. About the 2nd one, it's part of the rules, it's legit because it is 100% "NSR" meaning you don't need to finish the masks sequence, as long as you get the mask of truth "somehow" (and I think they put it on B at some point.... it's questionnable but it's an arbitrary category anyway)
"Lol as far as I'm aware no distinguished TASer gives a f*ck what's accepted. I certainly don't like Bizhawk but I'm glad to hear at least some TASers are picking up the better emulator" a distinguished TASer Working on: -OoT No RBA/WW -Zapper 100% _______________________________________ Follow me on http://www.twitch.tv/amateseru :)

I think it does make sense that you'd need to defeat Ganon, since Ganon is basically the boss of the "final dungeon", and the point of MST/all dungeons is that you get to see all the dungeons and all the bosses from the dungeons, right?

I have always been of the opinion that any run that warps to the credits fails to beat the game, so if beating the game is one of your objectives for the run u are going for (which it usually is), then warping to the credits doesn't accomplish your goal. I see warping to the credits as a way of softlocking the game.

I disagree, but also I'm of the opinion that this is a prevalent enough viewpoint that any run that doesn't beat the final boss should have a separate category with "same qualifications, only it needs to beat the final boss"
