I'm a newbie and have just downloaded lsnes. When I play a SNES game, how do I record my controller input, so I can play it back later? Thanks.

In lsnes you always record a movie, so you can either enable read-only and load an earlier savestate, or click on Movie -> Rewind to start to watch it from the beginning. If you have problems making lsnes actually detect controller input, then configure your controls in Configure -> Settings -> Controllers...

lsnes record automatically your inputs. And you have the 3rd option on the horizontal menu for rewind and play your movie. Masterjun was faster.

You already are. There is no option to turn it on. Or rather: There is no option to turn it off.

You can also go to File > New > Movie and make your settings, like controller's type, author name, anchor savestate/SRAM and save prefix (to avoid using only the default slots). Some of those options can be changed after the movie is started in the Movie tab. Like was said, even if you don't create a movie, an anonymous one is always being recorded. This is useful when you do some glitch or technique while playing casually and wanna replay the result.
