Hi... I am in the process of recording my first trick/timeattack video. I'm not going to disclose the game yet. I was at the end of the 2nd level, and I decided to play back my video. Somewhere in the middle of the 2nd level, my character gets hit by something that it wasn't supposed to get hit by, and it therefore screws up the rest of the video. My character obviously then misses every jump and enemy and eventually stops dead in his tracks. How did this happen? I am sure I didn't hit the enemy when I was playing, but for some reason in the .fmv, I was hit by it...

Play the FMV again. If the probem happens again, just rerecord from before the desync occurs, and from then on, check for desync more often.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

GRRR... this is getting very annoying. It seems this game relys a lot on random things happening. This is the 5th time I've played through this stage and it screwed up again.

This is the 5th time I've played through this stage and it screwed up again. There are only two things you can do to help. Be careful not to load save states in the wrong order and check to make sure the fmv isn't broken more often.

Use the hacked 60fps version, it desyncs much less often (for me at least). http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=152

Same experience here. I haven't had desync problems with the 60 fps version for a long time.

Then you're lucky.Famtasia is the worst re-recording emulator I have seen.

Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, but I'm getting desyncs every 2 minutes now. It's a miracle if I play back my movie and it doesn't desync, no matter what game it is.

Try disabling the "auto" setting of frame skip in emulation speed configuration. Use always frame skip=1, occupation=minimum and vary only the percentage.
