Emulator used: FCEU Hacked game Use warps (Unavoidable) Full amazing version
>>Abuses programming errors in the game<<<
Show hundreds of bugs Genre Platform
I don't know if Bisqwit will accept it, but, it's really fun to watch.
--Hack's description--
  1. 1: Able to jump anywhere, but, I don't abuse it when not necessary.
  2. 2: Bowser has more hit points.
  3. 3: Start with 0 live remaining.
  4. 4: times modified.
  5. 5: levels modified.
>: Kind of game near unbeatable in real time without reloading.
--Bugs description-- Able to cancel death in the pit if you jump. (Able to jump only in the hacked version)
After the character pass the flag or take the hammer:
  1. 1: you get stock if the character fall in the pit.
  2. 2: the character must be blocked by an object to finish the level or you get stock. (The character stop after a while if it's related to the hammer)
About pipes:
  1. 1: You can get hurt while entering in a pipe (if you die: you restart in the level destination of this pipe.)
About walls:
  1. 1: Able to rebound on the wall depending of the pixel alignement of the character.
  2. 2: Able to pass through wall depending of the pixel alignement of the character and some other actions.
  3. 3 Able to pass through wall if an hidden coin or a coin exists on the left of the object.
  4. 4 Able to pass through wall if you scroll it near the left border of the screen then jumping under it and on the border of the screen.
  5. 5 Able to pass through wall if you are on any elevator.
About reboundable objects like bricks and ? squares:
  1. 1: able to pass through that if it hit an enemy.
  2. 2: ? square will give nothing if a coin exists on the top of it.
Press and hold left + right and the character will move back.
Shell or turtle with his wings lost stand in the air if you jump on the turtle on the bottom of the screen.
Bowser bug if you not kill him and if he is not at the end of the level.
And more ... :)
Every bugs exists in the original version of the game, but I don't know if the character is killable while entering in a pipe.
Funny thing: In the original version, in any level lower than unit 4: there is a brick hidden after the door of the castle to block the character, abling the level to finish. You will see it in this movie.

Read Genisto's submission message. It explains everything pretty good.

It almost seems like the kind of hack that's meant to show off bugs with help from an emulator.

It would be pretty cool if Genisto designed his own SMB hack and TASed that.

Who knows, maybe he secretly *is* the guy who did this one. ;)

The fact that the hack enables jumping at any time (including any place in air) doesn't concord nicely with the theory. It's mostly a "guess what I was thinking" puzzle.

That's a definite possibility. Japan is insane.

Any country that refers to fish used in cooking with a honorific title (such as "san", in this case) is insane. ^.^ But then, so are we... But yeah, those hacks are rather crazy, judging from the screenshots.

Hacked ROM link was deleted. I created a patch: http://rapidshare.de/files/6946065/Airpatch.IPS.html (Click the "Free" button, then click the link at the bottom.) You must patch "Super Mario Bros (PRG 0) (JU).nes" Patching program SnesTool: http://acmlm.overclocked.org/download/filelist.php?id=2

You know, I think you're absolutely right, and that fact scares me--that such a glitched-out...mess as this only has one solution, and Genisto has found it. Personally, I think this is actually supposed to tell a story; look at the "intro text", and consider it--the author is moving through different "stages" of Air, doing things that defy how normal Mario is played, objects in weird and obtuse locations, having to get power-ups to get through an area before returning to a vunerable state again, and the "ending"--it doesn't end! It's like some horrible neverending cycle. ...I sound like a postmodern art critic. Quick, someone slap me!

Considering the lengths this hack's author must have gone to to verify that this dense jumble of levels is possible to complete, I'd say it's not too unimpressive a hack. I mean, compare it with one of the much more common hacks such as the "super bald bros" hack, and you'll see it's way more innovative. But, it still doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

What the... Nicely done joke hack... I hope it's a joke... Insane enough to be published IMO.

Playing it's neat, no complains. The hack though while it may be impressive being very hard but still finishable, still doesn't impress me at all. I really don't wish to see movies of this hack here. 'No'.

This hack is simply Mario in his own private Hell. The game forces you to take damage in order to progress, and does so in new and interesting ways. You can't ignore coins, because you need one extra life to spend in order to actually win. And when you do win, it's worse than the Princess being in another castle. It's almost like performance art. Level 3-2 is possibly the oddest thing I've ever seen done in a video game. It's certainly not a terrible hack: the Satanic Freak Bros. and its ilk from i-mockery.com are orders of magnitude worse. I'd "yes" this, but it appears I can't vote.

You need to have made at least a certain number of posts to vote (I'm not sure about the exact number, but it isn't that high - something like 10 or so, IIRC, but I'm not really sure, so don't quote me on that). I think this is mostly a measure designed to prevent people from signing up with multiple accounts and then voting several times on the same submission to swing the vote in their favour.

About the game: I only liked the part where you had to follow the mushroom and knock it from bellow so that it'd keep on moving right untill you could catch it. About the run: I don't know the reason, but it seemed slow in a lot of places. You stopped, waited, went back a lot of times and I don't know why. I enjoyed watching but i'm gonna vote meh because it's an ugly game.
