Well I sorta got FBZ to sync. Act 1 syncs without any problems as expected. Act 2 starts a frame early so I deleted a frame to compensate for this and then added it back a bit later to make the rest of the level sync. It then desyncs at around 2:30 because the graphical glitch with the spring didn't work. Now wasting a frame in MHZ2 does fix this, but since we got this far without having to do that I kinda just want you to redo that last bit of FBZ2 instead. Of course that is if you want to. The GMV EDIT: Oh yeah I love the way you redid the MHZ2 boss. That's one of the reasons why I really like the fire shield.

Here is, and I changed a little some Sonic and Tails interactions for entertaining and hit the capsule early, for some reason the spring glitch consumes 17 lag frames now :P but not matter, is only for entertaining. GMV

Well yeah the spring glitch always consumed 17 lag frames. I just thought it was too cool not to show off in the run despite it wasting those frames. And I did find the new interactions entertaining. I'm also glad you chose to save those frames. Now that we finally got this out of the way it's time for SOZ1. Compared to other levels this will probably take me a very long time to tas. I'm definitely taking a break before starting. Don't be surprised if the rerecord count skyrockets.

Haha, personally I like high rerecord counts, this shows the really dedication of the author(s) puts in his projects trying to do an "unbeatable" TAS or trying to optimize a complex physics-game like genesis Sonic or PSX/N64/DOS games. If I'm correct our movie must have more than 250k+ if I convine all of your/mine/theyogwog test runs, but Idk how to edit the gmv to put the real rerecords atm, Maybe I'll ask WST in the future. I hope sandopolis does not take long time, it's a big and difficult map but when you get used to it it's easy

It's not that it'll be difficult. I did find Act 2 to be reasonably easy (except for that one insanely difficult trick). It's just that optimizing a level this long is going to take some time. I might go for the same route, or at least test out part of it. Faster movement might be all I need to overcome the moving objects. Idk, I'm kinda low on ideas right now which is part of the reason I'm taking a break. Yeah that rerecord estimate seems about right. I don't know how to edit the rerecord count though.

The route you chose is fine, don't worry about it. Maybe with the time will save the objects will sync perfectly, If you want I can TAS the first 2 min of the level.

Actually that'd be really nice. With both of us tasing SOZ1 it should be a piece of cake. Plus I already got a good representation of how much I've improved with the new AIZ2 run.

Very impressive. I will admit that my old tases were kinda meh but it's still amazing that you improved this level by that much. I didn't expect you to tas this much of the level though. Oh well I can always go back to try to improve it even more.

Thanks friend, but if luckily you manage to save a frame, I'm sorry to tell you that it will be in vain at least as far as I've come, because this frame you saved will be consumed in a giant ring room or a platform in you way, believe me, I've tried it many times. The objects in Sandopolis follow a pattern in real-time when ACT1 starts, this also affected those of ACT2, they continue to move independently if they are loaded or not on the screen. That's why it's normal to see in some movies that the author prolongs the signpost time a little after the boss battle in ACT1 to have a better synchronicity with the objects in the ACT2 Offtopic: for some reason the movie got corrupted and I thought I had lost all the progress but I could recover it thanks to the saves but the rerecords were lost if you see a weak amount comparing other levels, they are really 17,000 plus the total.

Yeah I know how those platform cycles work and how hard it'll be to improve SOZ1 as a result. That's why I'm looking for more significant time saves which I see none of atm. btw do you want the fire or lightning shield for the start of Act 2? 17k rerecords? That still a lot compared to the measly 7k it took to make my testrun. Don't worry about losing progress. I always keep a few spare copies of the gmv on me in case something like this does happen. Besides you still have your own download link.

You guys may want to try out Git, or at least Subversion :)

I prefer finish ACT1 seeing I'm very near to the end and fix some things in the .gmv, later you can do part or all SPZ2, or me doing SPZ and you redo LRZ, as you want.

Okay yeah go ahead and finish Act 1. Here's a faster method of collecting those 3 rings in the wall. You can also use that moving platform to do this. Link to video I suppose I'll just do Act 2. I already know how I can improve it. I may need help with the improvement you pointed out though. As for LRZ. I think I'm only gonna redo Act 2 since I did see some room for improvement there. As for Act 1 you can redo it if you'd like.

Yay we got the longest level in the game out of the way. Your run is as clean as a whistle. There's one thing though. I'm pretty sure you could've saved a frame by hitting the boss from the ceiling like I did in my testrun and maybe even more by using hyper sonic (I haven't gotten around to testing the latter). Don't worry about it though I'll fix it. EDIT: So it appears that you can save more frames by hitting the boss from above the ceiling. Time for Act 2. This should be fun. Although I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to doing that light switch trick again. It took me around 5k rerecords to do it the first time.

Okay wow I knew I could save time but not this much time. I saved 30 frames from hitting the boss in the first possible frame. I didn't even need Hyper Sonic. Just the lightning shield and some assistance from Tails. I'm pretty sure this can also be done with the insta-shield which could be useful for any%.

Nice to know you saved time, but you maintained the signpost highligh? because if you don't let the signpost fall directly in the fire shield you will lost that frames by hitting the signpost one more time, and maintain my music sync >:C

Yeah I'm having some issues with it atm. I can't scroll the screen far enough right because Sonic gets hit immediately after he hits the boss. Maybe Hyper Sonic could get around this problem but doing it with him is even harder. Maybe you should give it a shot. If you do it correctly the final time will be 5:11:10. Resyncing your music is easy. Just do the first spindash and then copy paste the rest of the inputs.

Yeah nearly anything is possible in a tas which is kinda insane. Anyways I fixed the problem. I managed to avoid getting hit and scrolled the screen as far right as possible. That's all I'm gonna do for now. I haven't made Sonic and Tails mimic the music like you did yet. I realized that there was more to it than just spindashing to the Act clear theme. I should warn you that there's a possibility I'll completely forget about it when I get back to this and just get straight to tasing Act 2, so I'm gonna give you the option to do it yourself. Of course it's completely up to you if you want to do it or not. gmv

Yep. Thanks for fixing it. You made it even better and it looks like we already got a good position with the moving platform in the beginning of Act 2 so I don't even have to touch those inputs. EDIT: I lied. I had to get rid of 56 frames of Tails grab penalty by abusing a glitch that forced Tails to fly during the Act clear tally and then make some slight adjustments with Sonic to compensate. As far as I can tell no frames were gained or lost in the process. Everything else is as it should be so it's finally time to start act 2.
