Would this work with 3 players?
Yes. There is a keybind for player 3 track recording, but you have to set one of the controller ports to teamplayer to actually be able to use 3 players. Then you just use 1-B for player 2 (teamplayer disables the other controller port) and 1-C for player 3. Make sure you configure everything before you start recording a new movie.

Hey no problem. Track recording is probably the most important tool for making a multiplayer run but it's not readily obvious. Are you planning on making a 2 player run?

Oh you wanna become a sonic taser? In that case welcome to TASvideos. We hope you enjoy your time here. I've watched some of your other tases. Yeah you have a lot to learn, but we are willing to help you. I would give you some tips but I don't have enough time right now. I made an improved run of Act 1 in Sonic 1 ZX http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/61994963/Sonic%2520The%2520Hedgehog%2520ZX%2520-%2520kaan55sadafsadfaf.gmv

I am making a 2 players movie of an another game, and then I'm thinking to make this in "Sonic 2 Advanced Edit", just for training

For now you need to learn to pay more attention to details. My recommendation is to try improving runs of other players, preferrably beginners, like Joseph. It’s easy and hard task at the same time. Easy because there are some mistakes visible by a naked eye of an experienced player, hard — because you need some experience to see them and realize where you can adjust your trajectory to save some frames or even seconds. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=466938#466938

I made a TAS on Sonic Megamix 4.0, it was a(n) experimental TAS so i can work on trying to learn about the basics of the games physics. Originally, i got 00:35 IGT (In-Game Time). Now its 00:33 IGT. a 2 second inmprovement. The link to the experimental tas: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1259043201/s1mm%20experimental%20tas.gmv

TwitTas and matheusbrancobs, here's a modified version of the romcheck file for the Sonic hud. This will allow the hud to work with some unsupported Sonic 1 hacks. Make sure you make a copy of the original unmodified romcheck file so that you can swap between the 2 (the modified file causes the hud to not work with non Sonic 1 roms). http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=1581566

In all honesty, that’s quite bad for now. It doesn’t look good enough even for a real-time speedrun, the tool-assisted speedruns are meant to be far beyond any human skills. Even a technically bad TAS can be super-human and can impress impressible people to tears. I really suggest focusing on the basics for now. Reading the game resources page and stalking the forum would help. 1. Learn how to control your speed & position: use RAM watch or, better, Sonic TAS tools 2. Learn how to brake, at least using the most simple and sloppy methods, which are still better than braking in slow mode with visual feedback. 3. Learn about jumping, slope angles and how they affect your jumps. Why jumping a frame sooner or later may give extremely different results (in your run I see some places where you probably wondered “how do they jump so high?” or something like that, and use the spring instead. 4. Learn about the loops, they are common to all stages of all Sonic games and many methods of boosting the speed or entering the terrain abuse loops. 5. Try improving some Joseph’s TAS. For me he’s the best candidate for that, don’t ask me why, just beleive. You’ll see how challenging it is.

Hello! I’m new here so don’t criticize me, please. :) Here’s a TAS that I made of a Sonic the Hedgehog 1 hack called Doctor Robotnik’s Plan B, in which it showcases a bunch of redone bosses throughout the hack. This beats matheusbrancobs’s TAS by approximately two seconds due to better strategy/optimization. See his video here: Link to video You can download the TAS and the BPS patch for this hack here (Feel free to ignore the ROM download folder): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aZHV4S6T3FyDIQpMPuJeC1JI1RH_17uL Yes, I can admit it has a few mistakes and my entertainment is rusty, but this is one of my first TASes to be uploaded to the internet. Please don’t hate on it too much. Other than that, please feel free to encode my run if you wish! Like I said, I'm new to this site and this is the first post I'm making here. I'd appreciate some information and help on how I can learn throughout this site! ;)
I'm Asumeh, semi-expert SMB1 TASer. :) Check out some of the TASes I don't submit/upload to TASVideos on my YouTube channel, if you'd like: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyDD727I6LYNJTPEKCzauCw In progress: - Record my older TASes (excluding any obsolete TASes) and upload to YouTube; other than that, nothing at the moment.

WOAAH NICE! Very good I put in the description of my video the .gmv movie file of my TAS (now obsolete), so... if you want to improve this better and better (like in the loops of Star Light for example), feel free! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1481694440/Doctor_Robotniks_Plan_B_REV01_%28Painto%29_%28SHC2016%29.gmv (P.S It means 7:55 because I accidentally edited this later... the last required input entry is at 7:49) Also, be WELCOME here!!!

Thanks for your replies, guys. :) As for my TAS, I don't think it would be a good idea to submit it because it uses an unofficial ROM hack in play. It might also be rejected for not having good entertainment enough and/or it could be optimized more. I just want to be on the safe side, and I was wondering if that's ok. Also, thank you, matheusbrancobs, for providing the link to your movie. As for Star Light's loops before the boss, I did try to glitch through them but unfortunately failed. On a side note, I do plan on making a comparison encode, but I'm not really too good with making encodes myself.

Don't worry... at Star Light loops, in overview, it's a bit hard to do, because needs specific jumps in specific positions and frames to get it, and too a [Jump] [_] [Jump] before the skip. Also, about the encoding and comparisons, let me do it... today I'll post it in my channel, with some notes in description too!

Ah I remember when I used to be just like that. Then I realized the HUD is very useful for fine tuning your movement and made it a lot easier for me to tell if certain tricks really are faster. I’d highly recommend you get accustommed to using it. Also wow a lot of new tasers in a short amount of time. Welcome to TASvideos Asumeh. I hope you enjoy your time here.
