feos, it just freezes after the title music. This emulator has billions of settings and none of them worked for me. I also tried Linux emulator, but it freezes in the middle of the game. Java games could be something new in TASing so I hope my bounty qualifies.

Your bounty qualifies as long as you say it does. I would not add it to the page, however, because there doesn't appear to be a rerecording emulator for your game yet. But I don't have a final say in what goes or doesn't go onto the page by any means, so please feel free.

Well, KEmulator seems like a working emulator, I just can't find the right settings for my game. It also allows to record a movie, slow down, speed up and pause. With enough planning and brainstorming one can easily make a fastest time movie. It probably would be really hard tho... I don't mind going up to 20$ if it's impressive and if the author shows me how to run the game in KEmulator or any other emulator. And I take back the "has to be published" requirement since I don't think it could be published without qualified emulator. So I would like to see my bounty listed with the others if it's possible :)

Other users haven't specified an expiry date. Generally bounties are a matter of honor. Either those that offered a bounty are being good sports and pay up, or they don't and they lose their honor and good name, in a manner of speaking. You do not gain the right to receive the money from the individual users and TASvideos distances itself from the matter, as per the disclaimer on the bounties page. Personally, I wouldn't count on everyone listed to be willing to pay up but I'm sure some of them will. The discovery of barrier skip in the Gamecube version was somewhat close since about a year ago, as far as I know. Trog(?) mentioned you could clip at 30~40 speed, but you can only reach 27. Those values are probably wrong but just I'm just giving you a general idea. The bounty of $1000 by one user if it works only on the Wii U version was probably a joke (given the "Kappa" at the post's end). At least I haven't heard anything about that user actually paying after the discovery of item sliding / barrier skip.

Now that this thread got bumped, it's time to change the bounty I set. The bounty was $10 for a way to obsolete the current OoT any% with a credits warp, plus an extra $10 if it also eliminates the RNG with the Deku Nuts. Now that the RNG has been eliminated for quite a while, but without changing the route to a credits warp, let's change things: $10 for a new OoT any% TAS that gets published, plus an extra $10 if it uses a credits warp. Note: Abusing emulator bugs will disqualify you for the bounty. Either find a way to make things like GIM not crash on N64 or use the VC version.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

I will offer $10 to anyone who can figure out how the warp glitch caused in this video happened. The game is “Barbie Game Girl” for gameboy, the glitch is beieved to have happened around 2:10 in the video. The game stops paying audio and as soon as the level is finished, the game automatically goes to the last level in the game. Link to video

Finally I have done a long overdue update to the bounty page. Sorry for being slow. For barrier skip in Wind Waker / Wind Waker HD: (This is to answer Bloopiero's concern and to give clarity on the barrier skip bounties) The ZSR forums have gone and with it everyone's bounty posts, with no way to retrieve them (I had no luck in WayBackMachine). There is the summary post but for me - I don't know about everyone else - it is too unclear, there is no way to know who said exactly what, which version was meant, etc. In unclear situations, I think the source post should be the deciding factor. So - as far as my perspective goes - the bounties are "invalid" and need to be reinstated by everyone, either post on a proper, accessible site (e.g. Twitter, Youtube, another forum) and notify me so I can link to your source post where you state your bounty; or post here and state your bounty here. The information on the top of the bounty page applies - TASvideos as a site does not operate the bounties, the users do (on a "frown upon if you don't pay" basis). I was recently messaged to pay my bounty (since barrier skip was discovered on Wind Waker HD), this was when I first took note of ZSR being gone and I have clarified to them that my bounty is for the GC version only. This is why I have reinstated my bounty, see my previous post. It is currently the only active bounty for finding barrier skip on GC. That being said, the only bounty addressing the HD version was by demolition14 (if it works for the HD version only, which is the case - the trick used does not work in the GC version) for an amount of $1000. I assume they chose this amount in jest, one of my previous posts mentions that this user posted a Kappa at the end. There is nothing more I can do. If you think I did a mistake or a wrong choice, or if you find a better solution (e.g. a copy of the original ZSR bounty thread), please feel free to reply to this post. I see this idea very interesting, more motivation for TASers. It's not "do for food", it's for "have some reason to do", reduce laziness But I see it'll need a complex system. maybe need intermediate page for receive money from oders and pay to bounties after completed mission. And need some rules to do

Okay - this is a separate bounty for Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness specifically. Currently, this is the only game in the series that does not have a mega skip. We need one for it; it's been years now, so it's time. I'm paying $250 to anyone who can break this game in a way that could be done in RTA-play. And, I'm not just leaving it with no ideas. There are a few possibilities, and I'll put them in order of most-time-saved to least. Best Scenario: You actually start the game in the last area, and if there were a way to warp into the final room of the game (conveniently located next to the second room), that would be a stunning find. You'd still need to glitch the Staff item in somehow, which is usually found much, much later. You must touch the Staff to the crystal in the last room to end the run. This would save somewhere in the range of 25 minutes, and is practically a credits-warp. Second Option: Find an unintended way to get the Staff. Having the Staff either as a spell or in your inventory is necessary to trigger a meeting with the game's bad guy in the forest. Collecting the rituals is pretty trivial and not that big of a time sink when you know where they are. The Staff is a colossal gatekeeper and could save 15 minutes or more of the RTA time. Third Option: Find a way back into the Dark One's Cave before the game intends. Typically, the only way back into the Dark One's Cave (the endgame dungeon) is through a cutscene that involves Katrina and Ad Avis after you've collected the Staff, 5 Rituals, and learned the Ultimate Joke. With 5 rituals and the Staff, warping back into the Dark One's Cave would undoubtedly save time, because we don't technically need the Ultimate Joke once we're in the cave. If we're in the Cave, the dialog trees assume you know the joke already. We'd still need the staff, but we could save about 3 or so minutes or maybe much more depending on how it could be used. Fourth Option: Find the Gypsy Skip. This is the most likely. The Gypsy Camp is usually inaccessible until Day 5; however, the doorway to Magda's room in the camp IS enterable. So, if you could find a way past the invisible wall that exists, you could enter the wagon and get the information of how to get the Staff early, and would probably save about 5 minutes of RTA time. We know this is viable because with the Debug Mode enabled we've been able to proof-of-concept this route. Fifth Option: Find a way to trigger Igor's Disappearance before Day 5. This is a relatively new idea that would work as an alternative for the Gypsy Skip. Sixth Option: Something we haven't thought of. I'll be happy to explain more details if anyone is interested. This is also a valid TAS Bounty because it would undoubtedly be used in any TAS attempts at Quest for Glory 4, and see my above bounty for more details on that! There's money to be made.

It seems strange to me to offer such a bounty, given that this is for finding a skip that may or may not exist, and there is a requirement that it must not be a TAS-only trick. If anything, this seems like a way to drum up interest in the RTA community for the game.

Well, there are a few things I considered before writing this that might make it less strange: 1. I already offered this bounty to our RTA community. 2. I've already offered this to other RTA communities. 3. Our community is small, and the sub-section that runs the forth game is smaller still. 4. This connects to my other bounty, which means someone could in theory double-dip on bounties, increasing the reward. 5. I'm an enthusiast and sponsor all around for this series, and I'm trying to drum up TAS interest in the series. 6. TAS players tend to give more technical answers in my experience, and I want to understand the game itself better. 7. I've been trying to break this game by myself for the last 5 years actively, and over 15 years total. But I don't have TAS skills or time to learn them. I can advise (like I did with c-square in QFG1 and QFG2). I've put my time into it, I will do more, but I'd love to sponsor as much interest as I can.

The two bonus levels are optional from my side (might not be the case for Constraint 2 – i.e., in order to be published) 2. Is accepted+published by TAS videos in the same category as Wyster & Scaredsim 2011 and obsoletes Wyster & Scaredsim 2011. 3. Has each level completed in a time that is equal to or faster than any proven human record at the time of submission and has each level completed in a time equal to or faster than the level times from Wyster & Scaredsim 2011. Comment on honoring the bounty: I realize that since I’m a newly registered member on this site, there might not be much trust in my honoring of this bounty. If there is such a concern and there is a trusted and long-term member of the TAS community, I’m willing to put the funds “in escrow” by transferring them to this trusted person who can then disperse the funds when the target is reached. Comment on relaxing Constraint 1: I originally wanted the run to be 66 seconds faster. This was determined by looking at current state-of-the-art TAS records on various levels, then scaling the improvement of Wyster and Scaredsim 2011 relative to Rising Tempest 2007 by the diminishing rate of expected improvement from the new sample. However, I reduced this amount (66 seconds) by 20% to 53 sec because the new Surface 1 strat could be an outlier compared to what is possible in the other levels. I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

I paid dragonbane0 the $50 bounty on 6th July 2019, for finding a barrier skip (memory corruption method) on the original Gamecube version which saves time in a speedrun before the end of 1st Jan 2020. The bounties page indicates this. There was no bounty awarded for the newer bomb drop method. Unfortunately I'm not getting around to updating the page with the latest bounty addition requests. Maybe I get around to it at a later time.

It's mainly subjective. I looked at the obsolescence chain of the category and made a note of the time improvements, then asked myself what kind of new video would be entertaining to watch for me. Just scraping off some frames wouldn't be that satisfying, but an optimization of 2 seconds (or more) would imply some optimization that would likely be interesting to learn more about. An improved run tends to have some exponential shape if you sort all the improvements across the levels and the top improvement tends to be interesting for me personally. If the run is around 2s improved, it would likely have a "main improvement" that is in the ballpark of 1s - which seems pretty substantial for a high profile game and category that is already very short and tight, and might indicate some new creative innovation.

I would exercise that right and reduce the 53 quite significantly if I were you :P S1 is a complete outlier because it is a significant rerouting. Frigate is the closest thing and despite a big rerouting there's not much time cut. The current TAS has aged for sure but it is very impressive, and leaves little room for anything significant on most levels. I put some thoughts on the-elite forums a while ago, estimating over 30 seconds, but that's assuming that some ideas that I have can be realised. 35s from the IGT would still be an outrageous cut. As for making a tutorial video that is a very good idea to which I'll give some thought. I'm probably the most active and I'm not even a TASer. The nice thing is that a newcomer could sweep all of SA.

I was looking for an answer like this. Thank you for that. Looking at your signature, I'm glad to hear that the creative mastermind behind many innovations is working on actualizing these ideas in a tight run. While I might reduce the time target of the $250 bounty in the future, I'll present a small alternative incentive in the meantime (if it's okay with the admins): $100 for an improvement in the range [35s, 53s) $250 for an improvement in the range [53s, 30min 42s] The first run that accomplishes one of these invalidates the other bounty. Other rules from above apply (5% TASvideos rake, tight levels, deadline etc.) I realize neither amount even comes close to compensating for the enormous amount of time and effort required, but I prefer there to be some additional reward beyond just recognition, albeit small.
