It's planned, but I'm not sure about the best way to implement it.
I've found a workaround: Seems like mame is hardcoded to have the Europe MVS (Ver. 2) bios as default, but you can fool it into thinking the default is something else. For example, if you want to change it to Japan MVS (Ver. 2), you'd delete the "sp-s2.sp1" file (which corresponds to the European bios) from neogeo.zip, then make a copy of "sp-j2.sp1" inside and rename it "sp-s2.sp1". The game will then load with the JP bios.

Regarding games with no good dump, they turned some of those warnings into errors, but Karnov seems to be working fine.
Found a fix for that too, and the solution is simple: All you have to do is feed the game's .zip empty files named after whatever is being asked. Example: King of Dragons asks for a "kd29b.1a" file, so you just create an empty file named kd29b.1a (1a being the extension) and put it in the game's archive. Emulator then stops nagging about it and the game runs. This trick works even in the previous version of mamehawk (before warnings turned into errors).

Thanks! That worked! Still many games have "click" sound problem. For example - Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder.

Quick test with Ketsui - Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003+01+01. Master Ver., bootleg cartridge conversion) because other roms don't work: There is also a difference in ratio between the rendering in BizHawk and the video dump. In the center the video rendering and behind it, in white, the BizHawk rendering. BizHawk & Video dump Encode: Link to video

Set 1:1 pixel size in config - display - aspect ratio. About missing roms, does it run in mame 0.220?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Yes it works with Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003/01/01. Master Vers.) (and others) And the ratio is even different (if relevant): It doesn't really matter that the other versions don't work in MameHawk, since the bootleg works and it's just a conversion. We'll have to see with other games if it really causes problems.

The native resolution of IGS PolyGame Master boards that Ketsui, Espgaluda, Dodonpachi Daioujou and some other games of the era run on is 448×224 (or 224×448 when vertically oriented), which is automatically corrected by the standard 4:3 CRT arcade monitors. Multiple other hardware boards (such as the CPS) also have non-square pixels.

I'm doing exactly the same thing with aspect ratio as mame itself! Indeed most arcade games were meant for CRT TVs, and some of them used things like vertical orientation or multiple screens. I account for all that.

Do the Naomi games work? If not, is this planned in a future release? I managed to make a full run of Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (just longplay, not TAS) without desynchronization, but BizHawk crashed a few times when loading save state or rewind.

These are the files, if I'm not mistaken: https://filebin.net/cf1cmll7p4he50kt/Ketsui_-_Kizuna_Jigoku_Tachi.zip?t=nqoybemz I'll be testing runs of other games over the next few days. So far for the few games I've tested, it seems to work very well, and Sonia's trick for correcting bad dumps indicated at the top of the page (2) seems to work well.

It works, but very slow. I've tested: Knights of Valour - The Seven Spirits, Dolphin Blue. Sega ST-V hardware (Sega Saturn) also emulates kinda slow. But it's not a problem since you can TASing these games via Sega Saturn core.

Link to video Minor glitches, audio desync in video dump (not ingame) Link to video Heavily graphics glitchs, audio desync in video dump (not ingame) Movie files n.b. I use FmpegWritter since Lagarith don't work for Noami. This two games run at 10-20 fps on my old laptop, will test on my deskopt PC soon.

Donpachi random desync. Dodonpachi random desync. More tests later. Sega Sonic Cosmo Fighter and Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car sync perfectly (it will only remain to test SegaSonic the Hedgehog when the controls will be implemented to get the full set of these arcade games), The Killing Blade sync well too, but can't do a full run because I suck at this game. I managed to do a longplay of '96 Flag Rally, which I tried to do with Mame-rr and FBA at the time but each time the replay was out of sync. With Mamehawk I only had one crash and one desynchronization.

For me, when I use the rewind function, BizHawk often freezes (sometimes with a frozen picture and a looped sound of the last frames, sometimes just BizHazk just doesn't respond anymore. I've tried several times to wait several minutes, but nothing to do, so I had to kill the process.

Is it normal that the cfg files for each launched game are saved in the root of the MameHawk folder? Wouldn't it be easier to store them in a folder specific to MameHawk?

Soul Edge ratio BizHawk output when dumping video Link to video According to this video Link to video And the infos here (Display Raster, 640 x 480 pixels) the ratio is not correct. Some on the "use 1:1 pixel size" in the display configuration

Are you saying it's 4:3 when you save an emulator screenshot in actual mame?

No, it's the same. Rendering scrennshot Emulator screenshot Does that sound right to you? The image format doesn't seem too stretched out to you?

Do some of these to make the emulator dump a 4:3 video: http://tasvideos.org/Bizhawk/FAQ.html#HowToPreventSplittingOnResolutionChanges

Thanks, I'll try. I hadn't thought of that. I rendered the video at the game's native resolution for once. The short load at the beginning is rendered in 4:3. Link to video

Will the paddle for steering in racing games (Rad Rally, Radical Bikers etc) be supported in near future? For the moment reassigning the paddle only takes into account one direction, not one axis. (Works in Mame 0.220)

I have a couple things. EDIT: Blazephlozard gave me a direct link to this on discord. So ignore #1 1) How exactly do I download this thing from Yandex? I click that Download button but nothing happens. Is there anywhere else I could get this? 2) How does the process work with dip switches when tasing a game? I would like to try a game on Very hard, but of course it is a dip switch change. I do see a service input in the controllers, but it just acts like a Coin input. So that does not seem to access a dipswitch menu. 3) For the game gun.smoke there appears to be an issue with the sound. Here is a short uncompressed video that has popping ever second or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8kPWb9QLDY Also this is very impressive!
