Submission Text Full Submission Page
Basically vanilla Mario 64 but every time you collect a coin, you get faster by 5%. All the basic stuff. This is Whomp's Fortress. Enjoy!

feos: Judging...
feos: There are several reasons why this movie can't be accepted.
As pointed out by OmnipotentEntity, this movie is slower than the currently fastest corresponding TAS segment that uses the original game and collects 100 coins. It's also slower than the "no Backwards Long Jump" record. Which breaks this Movie Rule:
This movie only plays a single level and doesn't complete the game, so it breaks this rule as well:
This movie uses a hack of Super Mario 64. The whole point of that hack is "Mario gets 5% faster every time you collect a coin". Here's the relevant rule:
  • Non-official games (hacks, homebrews, etc...) and prototypes
    • "Non-official games are allowed for submission. However, they go through more scrutiny than other games. This is because the game itself also becomes a subject to judgment, so it must be a high quality and notable game with a strong following.
      [...]
The TAS should be high quality on its own merit, and must also show something interesting compared to other game(s) made on the same game engine, if applicable."
"Mario gets 5% faster every time you collect a coin" only has several hits on Google if you omit the quotes (0 hits with quotes). It's also still quite new, so not strong following to talk about so far. It's also not known if the fully optimized TAS of this hack would look any different from how the vanilla game is played, despite this suggestion.
The branch. Collecting all coins is already done in [2208] N64 Super Mario 64 "all 120 stars" by mkdasher, Nahoc, sonicpacker, Jesus, Kaylee, MoltovM, SilentSlayers, snark, ToT, Bauru, Eru, Goronem, Mokkori, Nothing693 & pasta in 1:20:41.52. With duly optimized movement, the question about the most optimal amount of coins collected becomes definitive for this hack. If you just collect all coins, there's no proof that the speedups added by this hack will make it look different enough from the "120 stars" TAS. If skipping some coins is more optimal, then the speed benefit added by this hack becomes iffy in itself, in which case, one might instead just watch a vanilla game TAS.
If a full run of this hack is done, the "all coins" goal is unlikely to get to Moons if we look at the votes for both submissions. Other goals will most likely look too similar to the current publications of regular SM64. And having this hack in Vault is outright impossible.
Rejecting.
Missingno0fficial, if you make another submission that obviously breaks the Movie Rules, you will lose submission privileges.

Ok so this isn't low effort trolling. That's good to know. Answer this for me please. Do you go by Missingno0fficial or Ominous. Secondly. This is an incomplete TAS as it doesn't fight Bowser 3. Upload your movies to userfiles until you actually complete a run.

Doesn't start from reset. Doesn't play full game. Uses hacked game. I'm pretty sure all of those things are generally against the stated rules of the site. I'm not even sure if 100% coin could be a good goal in a regular playthrough since coins reappear in each level reentry.

Actually hacked games are allowed, if the romhack is available. However, to use the April Fools SMB submission here it'd be rejected for not being a quality hack. (Besides the fact it's incomplete)

Great movie, walks straight into a wall 3 seconds in, must be part of a glitch setup?

Somehow this TAS is slower than the TAS of the same star without the speedhack. Compare: https://youtu.be/xL6VE_5PddM?t=612 100 coin + 8 reds star starts at 10:12 ends at 11:04 (for 52 seconds) in the 120 star TAS. In this TAS, the movement after clearing the text box starts at 30 seconds and finishes at 1:47 (for 77 seconds).

Boy, TASVideos must be really short-staffed if this insta-rejectable movie has stayed up in the workbench for this long!

Interesting, I'm glad to see others agree with what I'm about to say. As others are stating, this movie doesn't complete the game...which is a requirement of TASVideos.org rules. Please see http://tasvideos.org/MovieRules.html (Sections under "Rules for movies")
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

However, there is an unusall high interest with so many Yes votes.
There are 11 No votes and 0 Yes votes. What are you talking about?
