An update was made today to Gambatte that fixes a VRAM access bug that prevented a run of WarioLand II from syncing on console. Thanks go to TIKevin83 and the gambatte devs for putting everything together and making a test ROM. jlun2 had posted the issue in the game thread less then a month ago, so seeing this wrapped up quickly and advancing console verification is pretty cool I think.
Was that a bug already present in upstream(sinamas gambatte)?

It's not that there was a bug in gambatte in bizhawk or upstream, it's that the Wario Land II TAS encountered a previously undocumented bug in the GB and GBC hardware itself, and so no emulators had accounted for that behavior of the hardware.

Why is there no news about Bizhawk 2.4.2 release?

I know. Why there is no announcement on the front page? I see the one about 2.4.1, but not about 2.4.2. I have got used to that news window and now 2.4.1 cuts my eye, like 2.4.2 isn't really supposed to be used.
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

Since there are a lot of problems with Virtu for the Apple II with BizHawk, and since Mednafen now offers the Apple II/II+ emulation, would it be possible to include this core in the future as was done with Cygne and Saturnus for example?

Please fix the NES core pixel perfect aspect ratio (with 1:1 pixel size). It's broken since 2.4.1 version. Correct aspect ratio | BizHawk aspect ratio PS Also please add the automatic menu bar hiding and bilinear interpolation.

is there any plans to consider the Flycast a core for BizHawk? https://github.com/libretro/flycast

First of all, wrong place to post that. Its already been mentioned elsewhere, and dreamcast games have ports that can already be tased(with some minor graphical changes). So I don't really see the point in a dreamcast core(other than to tas shenmue games, which are bad candidates either way).

I would like to mention that there are actually quite a few people using Rerecording to create Longplays of games and not Speedruns. So personelly I would see a point for ANY core that could be implemented :)

Windows Binary Release notes This is a major new update that features some big improvements to TAStudio, fixes UzeBox (relevant for DTC9!), and introduces some new cores, including TurboNyma (ported from mednafen), a more accurate core than PCEHawk. In addition, there is a new waterbox system, new rewinder, new TAStudio state manager, and countless fixes, and core updates.

Any plans to bring back the rewind frequency and speed options? They were kinda nice.

Seconded. Having a higher frequency (I had it set to every 8 frames iirc) also allowed for a longer rewind buffer, I believe.

This should be possible by setting the max buffer size lower. See this ticket.

When I try to run this version of BizHawk my computer (Windows 64x laptop) says it won't because it's detected viruses, specifically a Windows 32x Trojan. I tried reinstalling the prereqs but that fixed nothing. Do I just turn off my antivirus defender, or is there something wrong with my installation proccess?

Adjust the target frame length. For instance, if you want to be able to rewind to 10000 frames before the latest emulation, set it to 10000.

BizHawk 2.4.2 (including previous versions) supports RetroArch "shaders_cg" "4xbr-hybrid-crt-b.cgp" BizHawk 2.5.0 will cause an error when calling RetroArch "shaders_cg" "4xbr-hybrid-crt-b.cgp" After BizHawk 2.5.0, RetroArch "shaders_cg" "4xbr-hybrid-crt-b.cgp" will no longer be supported?

I have a few questions. First, how do you get this color palette in Game Boy games? Here are my settings and I tried all the available palettes and didn't get those colors. Second: how to make rewind work? I assigned a button on my controller and rewind just doesn't work, what else is required?

For rewind, you need to go to Config -> Rewind & States, and check the Enabled checkbox in the rewind settings. Also, make sure it has reasonable buffer and desired frame length values

Oh how could I miss it, thank you! It's very useful feature so it must be turn on by default I guess. And I have following values by default:
Max buffer size: 512 MB Desired frame length: 600
Is it ok?

Hello all, great emulator I very much appreciate your continued work on it. Since the version 2.5.1 update I'm getting the error code 0xc000007b when trying to start a recording using FFMPEG. It will download it and place it into the dll folder okay, but after downloading I get the error saying the application needs to close and it doesn't recognize the FFMPEG executable in the dll folder. Here is a video of it happening if that's helpful. Link to video I'm happy to provide any other information if needed. I checked folder permissions and ownership and didn't see anything off. It's set up the same way I set 2.5.0 up and that doesn't have the same issue. Thanks again for all your efforts.

Fixed in 2.5.2. As a workaround, you can delete version.dll in the bizhawk folder. (copying natt's post)
