1. The 1st Thing You May Have a bit Confused: The Game Time 28:16 means that it was measured by the game's embedded time record. 2. I used VBA to record and the version is vba-rerecording-svn480-win32. (https://code.google.com/archive/p/vba-rerecording/downloads) 3. A New Record by me. 4. Taking 0 Damage, which goes without saying, implies that the main protagonist doesn't suffer any damage during the whole gameplay except for that in a plot.

We only allow runs starting from a savestate if it is the only option to access the particular feature that the run uses. For example, Super Mario Land "hard mode" is allowed to start from a savestate because SML doesn't have saves, and hard mode requires beating the game and immediately continuing into hard mode from there. This is because we can't really verify the legitimacy of a savestate by itself. A state could appear completely legitimate, but it could have been created through illegitimate means, and theoretically it would be near impossible to tell. Time Challenge mode in this game requires beating the game twice, once on Normal mode and again on the unlocked Director's Cut mode. In this case, we'd require a separate verification movie that beats the game twice in order to set up the save file, and this run would have to start from reset using that save file. VBA supports doing this, and while we don't exactly recommend using VBA anymore (it's severely outdated, inaccurate, and unsupported), the fact that it supports starting from SRAM at all means that a savestate should not be used for this run.

I see it. Another day I will try to make a full record from NORMAL to DIRECTOR'S CUT and then to TIME CHALLENGE using new emulator BizHawk. Wait...1 more thing. There doesn't seem to be any differences between Director's Cut Mode and Time Challenge when you go through the whole game using Method of Speedrun. So...do I compulsively need to record thrice? In that way, may I only record twice (Normal Mode to Director's Cut Mode) and you keep the previous VBM of Time Challenge Mode?

I just tried re-recording Normal Mode, but it was in Act 8-3 when I reached to the Exit Door, I found that I had 1 more hostage not be rescued so I shut down EmuHawk and deleted the record. Is it really necessary to verify if the previous VBA record is valid? It's an Side-scrolling ACT game, which means, it won't be easy to speedrun through it. The second VBA record shows 2min 28s faster than the first VBA record, and that took me more time. Meanwhile, I re-recorded 3k more times. My purpose of recording a TAS is not to be the 1st of the world in that field. But it's only because I couldn't find a TAS Video for the game Bruce Lee - Return of the Legend. Just take it if you would like to.

The purpose of a verification movie is to verify that the SRAM state is indeed valid and reproducible, and is not something hacked together externally. The verification movie does not need to be optimal at all, it could be some casual playthrough with max speedup and whatnot, it just needs to produce SRAM the final movie uses.

Sorry about the previous words. I was not in the mood at that moment. I decide to record a new movie using BizHawk from Normal Mode to Director's Cut Mode, and then a separate record of Time Challenge Mode with the basis of battery memory. But I will only go through Time Challenge Mode with Speedrun Method. Is that OK?
