I'd like to see a run of Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Although it may get a bit boring in time to time. But still, I'd love to see how fast it can be done and recall the whole game since it has been ages since I last played it :) I could propably maybe if I had enough time, do a run of it but i'm really not so interested in luckmanipulation so i wouldn't make every hit critical, find the correct pokemon on the first try, etc. so i don't think people would be so interested enough of it to get it published..
Which run should I encode next? :)

Might = very few chances but still a little May = a bit more chances than might May is more likely to happen than Might... so May or Might... (Might is really not sure...) I thought you were a native english speaker... (i'm silly and I like that :P)

Well, neither word refers to any particular amount of probability, and because "may" is commonly used to mean "to be permitted" and is often used in a legal sense, it carries pretentious connotations. For these reasons I always use "might" instead of "may".

Hm, I wouldn't mind seeing a Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal run myself. But I feel Chikorita would be a bad choice for a starter(Just thought I'd add that).

Shantae. I keep having to mention this.
Although I noticed that the graphics are bugged in the rerecording VBA. They're fine in the unhacked version though...

Err... thanks for letting me know, I'll look into this a bit... EDIT: This is fixed now, btw. There's nothing stopping a Shantae run from being made anymore.

well i'd definetly like to see wario land because it's a fun and easy game with good graphics. i will also appreciate castlevania adventure, mostly because the controls SUCK! when i played it 10 years ago, i hardly got beyond the first level. i once made to level 3 but got killed quickly by the wall of spikes >:-( anyways, while it would be very satisfying to see it beaten, i don't think this will make a fun run to watch, since the player character moves and jumps like a ten ton weight were tied to his feet

I've actually been thinking about doing Hyper Lode Runner (which I have to say is probably the best in the whole series). I've already seen a level TA'd and I think it has some potential. Also, the game is almost entirely gameplay, so people won't have to sit through dialog screens or boss intros.

I have some more obscure games to add to the list: 1.Avenging Spirit 2.Battle Unit Zeoth 3.Knight's Quest By a strange quirk, that list is simultaneously arranged in alphabetical order, likelihood of being TASed and my preference for them to be TASed. Anyway, some info: Avenging Spirit: A short but difficult action platformer where the protagonist is a ghost who has the ability and need to possess any enemy it comes across. Each enemy has different attack and movement capabilities as well as hitpoints, so a TASer has plenty of choices. You have two life meters, the life of the possesed enemy, as well as your "spiritual power." If your host runs out of health or if you press select, you ditch them and become a free floating apparition again. While in this state, you can pass through walls and enemies can do nothing to you, in fact they don't even notice you. However, you constantly lose "spiritual power," lose it all and its game over (infinite continues though). Some enemies do have the ability to damage your "spiritual power" directly when you have a host, so be mindful of that. I don't know if death can be used to save time, but if you die, you come back in whatever host you had last, this can be useful for keeping a host in a level where it doesn't show up. Interesting/useful hosts: Blonde Karate Girl - One of the three host you are offered in the beginning tutorial. Take her! She is fast and has a good jump and a bit of range for her attack. The best choice for the first areas. Buzzcut guy with pistol - He has one of the highest jumps, and full screen range, otherwise not so great. Robot - Not so quick, and not a great jump vertically, but this guy "floats" (a slower descent useful for getting across longer gaps) . Plus his missiles are long range and powerful. Yogi - His movement sucks, and his attack is no range(punch) and weak, but, he can "fly" (through his meditationary powers, you can jump while in the air, infinite times). Also, I believe his horizontal movement is faster while flying (perhaps a TASer might be able to get some nice speed similar to the underwater parts of the Wonderboy 5 TAS). Shuriken Ninja - Fast, nice jump, long range attack and Ninja. Invisible Man - You can't attack but enemies can't attack you, his hitpoints constantly run out, basically a nice way to avoid damage, but you have to plan for your next host. If you somehow got up to a boss with this guy, you'd be totally screwed. Laser Girl - Not an enemy, but instead the person you are trying to save. Getting her means you are on your way to the "good" ending (Bad ending means not saving her). She moves and looks like Karate Girl, but her Laser is long range and (I think,) the most powerful weapon in the game. Getting her involves a bit of extra legwork, but not much I think. I recommend a TASer grab her. Yikes, that was longer than I thought. I'll post the info about the other games later I guess.

Pokémon Puzzle Challenge. Intense difficulty, Challenge mode run. Normally I wouldn't be mentioning a game that's so similar to an already published TAS of another game (in this case, Tetris Attack), but the differences between the two runs would warrant it. For starters, the current TA run is an Endless mode run to max out the score before quitting. PPC's Challenge mode is basically TA's Story mode, only with pokémon. But that's where Intense difficulty comes in. Due to the GBC's limited screen width, it can only show one screen of blocks — those would be yours. This means that you don't see what "moves" the computer is doing, so it has a tendency to just randomly drop blocks on you. The first level of Intense alone has the computer dropping ×5 and ×6 garbage blocks constantly. The mode is pratically impossible to beat without tools, and even then I think that there would need to be some seriously planning ahead in order to not get bogged down by an endless stream of garbage blocks. That's my game for this wishlist. I doubt that it'll ever be picked up, but it's always fun to dream. :V

Only game I can think of right now is "Spongebob Squarepants: Legend of the Lost Spatula." Probably a completion getting only the necessary upgrades for each item (upgrading the spatula to the Hydro Spatula, for example, is a good upgrade) and only the necessary items. I also noticed most bosses (like the on on Undersea Desert) have certain attack patterns (this boss fires ketchup shots either quickly or slowly), which could be luck-manipulated to get the fastest results. Just throwing an idea out into the open.

yoshi's cookie would be a nice puzzle game. start at max speed and the run through the 10 levels. i can do that in 9 minutes, a tas could be done in maybe less then 2 minutes...

Some TAS potential here: The Adventures of Star Saver (GB) The Return of the Ninja (GBC) Ninja Taro (GB) And here are demonstration movies for each game: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/gbtasdemos.zip --- Edit: Ninja Taro movie updated. (I'm not going to continue it any further.)

Maybe someone could obliterate Burai Fighter Deluxe. I got that game when I was a kid, and just hated it so much. The game just got on my nerves, since it seemed to do everything it could to ruin my fun (mostly by sending high-speed enemies at me from the unlikeliest directions, and switching scrolling-directions almost all the time). Heck, half the time I would get stuck on the first boss. Anyway, I don't think I could ever touch this game myself, but watching someone zip through it with apparently no effort would be like a dream come true.

Mercenary Force please It is a shmup with a way to skip sections of a stage as well as the last boss (special move of the monk) and requires planning to balance money usage, so it would be interesting to see a run for this. http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/mercforce/mercforce.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy7NMx4F30Y
