Slide Boy in Maze Land is a homebrew released in 2021 by Vladimir Zuniga, the same person that made Peril, for the Atari 2600 and 7800 systems. You play as Slide Boy, who navigates through a collection of mazes while avoiding a vast variety of foes.
The Atari 7800 version already has a TAS made by Darkman425. This TAS plays through the Atari 2600 version.
Information:
- Emulator used: BizHawk 2.8
- Genres: Puzzle, Homebrew
This is an 86 frame improvement over https://tasvideos.org/5173M.
New strategies:
Room 24
Instead of going up and down with the blocks to get to the exit, I instead went left, up and then right for a much more straightforward route.
Room 30
I intentionally delayed crashing into the right arrow box for the 2nd time to hit the block above where I stop and get to the exit more quickly.
Room 38
At the beginning, I went straight up instead of going L, U, R, U.
Room 41
I found out you only have to bump the down arrow box once instead of twice.
Other Timesaves
I added another Quick Score trick in Room 38 to save 2 additional frames.
The rest of the time is saved from fixing delayed movements, saving 1-2 frames in ~10 rooms.
Conclusion:
Thanks for reading. If you find any improvements, I’ll be happy to add you as a co-author.

nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: I'm going to re-iterate my irritation, in regards to not seeing these cuts in your previous submission. This means, if I had found them before...the submission would still have been good for acceptance, because they are not obvious. With this submission, the same situation exists.
This movie continues the same classification of "No Major Skips". Good job on the new cuts.
Accepting to "Standard" for publication.

I'm annoyed at myself for not finding anything in your previous submission. This just tells you how much time you need to spend with a game to understand it better. I'm going to give this a quick review again.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

I'm about to pass final judgement on this. Since you submitted this one so quickly, after the previous publication...I wanted to give you a chance to ensure that this is your best effort.

Only the first subtitle needs to be shortened a bit so that it ends before the transition to the CLEAR screen. Good otherwise.

Yeah, will redo. I noticed that was also the case in despoa's encode of the previous run. Edit: I redid the encodes, links are in the first post.

Nice to see a new encoder stepping in to join the others. Probably the hardest job here. Thanks for your volunteer work.

Thank you! I find it fun to encode runs, that's why I volunteered.
