The Chessmaster is a series of chess video games. It released on many systems. This TAS beats the CPU on the easiest difficulty, “Newcomer 1”, on the SNES version.

Notes
Before starting a game, I have to switch the difficulty to Newcomer 1, since the game's default starts at 1 (60/5). Then I have to change the board. You can select from three boards in this game: a 3D board, a standard 2D board, and a "War Room" board (which is just the 2D board flipped sideways. The War Room board is chosen because the 3D board is too large (a lot of distance the cursor needs to cover) and because White's pieces are on the right (which is where the cursor starts at).
These moves are played:
- e4, e5
- Qh5, Ke7
- Qxe5++
I have to waste frames on turn 2 to get Black to make a bad move. A textbox appears after checking the king, and I have to press A before the game registers it as a checkmate.

nymx: Ok...so it has been a long time since I have actually played any chess. Within the last year, my wife decided that she wanted to learn. Well, I overheard her saying that she won and I was puzzled as to how she did it so quickly. Well, it ends up being that the easiest level didn't really have logic behind its choices. After examining it for myself, I realized that it appears to be purely RNG. So now that I see how this works so well, "Newcomer !" seems to fit within the same description as the version my wife has been learning on.
