Update-time! I made a 2nd Demo of my Reverse Boss Order run. It's not very long but I did some nice tricks in the last rooms so I thought I upload it anyway. http://rapidshare.de/files/10490435/Super_Metroid_-_Speed_Demos_2.avi.html Enjoy!
I enjoyed most your accuracy in your jumps. I bet it is a bit tedious to get many refills.

I love how your life is constantly draining. Now that's suspense. What I've seen looks good. Keep it up.

Awesome work, Saturn. The one thing I'm really eager to see, though, is the climb up to the entrance of lower Norfair. Though you'll probably wait until the release of the full smv before you let us see that, eh?

Thank you guys, I'm glad you like it! I know it's a bit crazy to take so much effort but I really want to make a good run. Maybe it will be the last one I do so I want it to be a big one. Angerfist: The refills (mostly the 5-pack flying creatures of the Well) were definitely the hardest part. I did tons of variations to manipulate luck for every kill I make there to get as much health as possible. But of course I also have to get/refill as much Missiles as possible for the Ridley fight without refilling in the ship because it will just be too long. Inzult: This is the main reason I decided to make a RBO run to make it as entertaining/suspense but still as fast as somehow possible. Spoony_Bard: I will definitely show this part in a AVI-Teaser in any case because it's one of the most stunning rooms to pass, this is for sure.

ARGH!!! Saturn, are you still saying this is not frame perfect? o_0 Those are the most precise movements I've ever seen so far in a SM speedrun, assisted or not! Holy crap, man… indeed, you are totally nuts. Well, in a good sense, of course. :D Wish you luck on your progress. This project of yours seem more and more interesting every week. (A hint: next time try to lower the sample rate of the audio track, or encode it in mono — those artifacts sound horrible. :)) )

Well I thought teasers are to be made as sweet as possible, to raise the tension… As with movies (cinematic, not speedruns), for example. A two-minute teaser often looks much better than the movie itself. But, judging from the effort Saturn seem to put in that run, I wholeheartedly believe the whole movie will be that great. Maan, this waiting is almost intolerable. :D

I can only think of one movie teaser that was better than the actual movi it self! :D It's called "Masjävlar". A swedish movie. Crappy if you ask me. But maby I just don't understand the entire movie? Ah well. I bet that Saturns movie will be great! So I will just lean back and wait. :)

"Ice Age" would be another example. The trailer (with the squirrel and his nut) was cute, but the actual movie was so bad I walked out in the middle when I saw it in cinema.

I also remember a Teaser which was much better than the movie itself. It was "Signs" with Mel Gibson. I thought the movie would be soo stirring with the aliens etc. but it was so boring that I almost slept away in the cinema. I give my best to not let the same happen to my movie. moozooh: Thanks, I really try to make the movie frame-perfect and I don't care too much about the sound in the teaser, its just for decoration.

Coming out with the Speed Booster at just 8 life left--that's jaw-droppingly awesome. :-) Kudos on the teaser; I'm pumped!

Do you perhaps have an SMV file of your current progress, Saturn? I can't seem to download off of Rapidshare for some reason, never really figured out how. I find that site highly annoying..

You press 'Free Dowload' or something and wait 20 s or so and write in three letters or numbers and download.

He doesn't release .smv's, that's why the teasers even exist.

I don't release them to not spoil the surprise of the complete run when its done. Kitsune: If you can't deal with Rapidshare try this easy link: http://www.zeromission.co.uk/tas/Super_Metroid_Speed_Demo2.avi Thanks alot to Andrew Mills, the owner of one of the biggest Metroid Sites on the net http://www.samus.co.uk/ for this Mirror! EDIT: Thanks Walker. It takes time to make such a run because the optimizings require much testings. If I do it faster the quality of the run may be lost, but I do my best to progress in the run step by step.

Ya I know. Take your time man. Testing different stuff is time consuming, but it pays off in the end. Good luck though!

Thank you very much Saturn! ^.^ EDIT: One word. WOW! If those aren't perfect movements, I don't know what are. Also, I think the Terminator music was a nice touch. xD I think it's amazing also how you managed to avoid dying all of those times without the Varia Suit.
