So what's going on with this? Is it in the process of being done?

I'm considering doing a speedrun for this game, my biggest concern is stage 5. I was wondering when it gets decided which of the three sewers the technodrone will be in and if there's anyway to conroll this or if one has a higher probabillity. For the TAS you should use the top right sewer it seems to be a bit faster to go to and the sewer section seem considerably faster. The bottom right looks to be second fastest for both and bottom left is just terrible for both.

If you do choose to do a run of this game, remember these words of advice: "Use the blimp to chase the helicopter. You can do it."

Can anyone look at the coding of this game to figure out how the technodrome spawn is determined for me, pretty please?

Another time saver: On the part where you use the ropes to cross over 3 gaps you can jump over the pipes where the rope is throw then back into the pipes and you'll throw the rope from there. This saves time because it allows you to move forward while scrolling the screen forward for an extra two blocks instead of staning still while you wait for the screen to scroll. In order to throw the rope the screen must be scrolled forward to a certain point. This shouldn't work on the last gap because the edge of the screen will move you forward when it scrolls. You can actually jump across the first gap by having dragon fly hit you forward on the way down. Getting the dragon fly into this position waste more time than what you gain I'm affriad. If you could somehow get the boomerage guy right before the gap to be one of the robots with the head that detaches I think you'd be in business for jumping the first two gaps to save time, unfortunately the thrid is much too large, or else you could skip getting the ropes.

I tried this with the flies but it's not possible to jump over the second gap. I'll put it on my todo-list anyway.

Second area, first level (top floor): ...you do realize that you can just jump to one of those ledges where the gap is (right before the door), right? That way, you don't have to spend a slew of seconds getting to that door. ;>_> I know that it works; I've done it before on the actual cartridge, although it's not exactly easy to do... and I've only been able to do the trick on the left ledge. Then again, I've never tried jumping to the right one.

You mean, before entering the dam area that leads to the dam? Where the door is at the top left corner and one has to run far to the right first to get on the uppermost platforms? If that's the door you mean it's not possible to reach it. Until someone proves me wrong of course.

Inside the dam(n), the room where you climb a ladder, the door to outside the dam(n) is straight above you, and there's a gap just to the right of the door that seems too high to jump up. I believe I've not only seen people jump up there on the actual console, but I thought it was done in the current TMNT TAS run? Anyways, I hate that dam(n) mission.

I've definately made that jump on the actual console, and I too thought it was done in the TAS =\ Maybe it wasn't I just never noticed. If I had noticed, I would have said something long ago...

Maybe it was on a different version? Cause you can't make that jump the same way you can make the jump up to the missiles in level 3.

I messed with it some myself and couldn't get up there, but I am about 90% sure I've done it before (though very rarely). Perhaps getting hit at the peak of the jump, or maybe swinging your weapon at the same time?

All attempts at swinging weapon didn't seem to make any difference. You diffinitely have to do something different than the other jumps which can barely make if done right. I wasn't able to get up with taking damage. Maybe your thinking of the part below this part? They're fairly similar.

Well like adelikat and I've stated, we've done it on the actual console... although it's rather hard to get up there in the first place. It's relatively easier to make the similar jump in area 3 to get the missles. And if there's another version of the game, it might be able to be done on there. (I doubt it, but still.)

I still don't think it's possible until someone proves me wrong. I've tried that jump loads of times, taking damage, swinging weapon etc etc. It's different from where one get's the missiles because there are more blocks there. The missile jump is only one block to overcome, here it's two and three iirc.

It's certainly possible I was thinking about the missile part and not this one.

I'd really like to see it done.

Well there's someone on the SDA forums saying he did it once a long time ago.

Word is that there's 5 enlgish versions. I'm wagering that the secret is using an earlier version.

On all the bosses I've tried so far I've found that items can do slightly more damage than bo hits with I think single suriken>boomerang>tripple suriken. You can go from 11 bo hits to 9 suriken. Sometimes the technodromes guns take 4 bo hits, sometimes 6. Don's bo seems to do slightly more damage to bosses when he's under half health. On the mouser I found it takes 9-11 tripple suriken, 9-10 bo hits, 9 boomerang, and 8 single suriken. being under half-health varies the damage but not enough to make a difference with boomerang and single suriken for this boss.

I failed to make it happen, but it was listed in an old issue on Nintendo Power as doable. A neat thing, you can jump up with half of your body going through the wall at the top. Because the video did not survive to the Shredder fight, I don;t know how you did it, but I remember a bug that I accidentally found that got Shredder stuck. I even had Mikey just start whacking him for fun, finishing him, but since my saves got corrupted, I can't go back and look how it was done. If you can recreate this, you'll likely save good time.

How would getting shredder stuck save time? He's already hitting him at the fastest posible rate. For the dam bomb part there's at least one place where you could get a could a current going that would help I think: right before entering the tunnel of seaweed you can get a current going to the right which will last through all 4 lasers. I think you need to activate the current right before the bomb behind 2 lasers, then not deactivate it while entering the seaweed tunnel. Also you can make the first-boss in stage 2 be a footclan ninja which dies to 1 bo hit instead of something that takes 2 or 3.

It might be nice to know the shredder glitch in case it helps with the normal speedrun, though. Unless there's already a good enough strategy, I guess. (You'd be the one to know, Spider-Waffle.) About that jump being doable, I guess people should experiment. But... hmmm... I hate that dam(n) bomb part...

Well, like I said, that videodesynced, so I don't know how the Shredder fight went, but I guess it doesn;t matter then.

I have a stratigy that works 100% where there's only a about 1-2 seconds in the begginning where shredder isn't being hit.
