If you do this whole game on the hardest difficulty... I will die from shock. :p I tried it last week or so, couldn't even get past the first couple of screens, with savestates and slowdown..

Is there more than one Toki? I remember playing Toki on Mega Drive and getting through it without that much difficulty, so this sounds strange.

I think Juju Densetsu was renamed to Toki in Europe. :) I have the Original of this game as well.. and i know that this game is even hard on easy :)

Nope, it's the Toki you're thinking of. But on hardest mode.. 'hardest' is an understatement... and trying to run it is so so difficult because there are enemies bouncing around -everywhere-, and Toki's so slow, it's very difficult avoiding them. And, of course, you die in one hit.

I played on easy or normal most likely, but anyway hearing this feels like a bit of an ego boost :) Toki stops every time he fires, right? So a run will probably consist of a lot of running.

this kind of run would require a lot of mad timing jump skill :) i remember that game. At first it seems so attractive, and then, when you died 5 times in 20sec, you feel like stupid ! but that game is still really nice to me! This monkey man's got such cute eyes hehe.

Yeah I do.. and I am not very proud over it. This GMV stops at lvl 7-1 http://frenom.areta.org/JuJu_Densetsu(J)Hardest-Frenom.gmv I started recording this for a very long time ago and I feel ashamed to put this up even here. :P This should have been deleted this for a very along time ago. Its a very HARD and slooooow game and only ONE hit is enough for you to die. UGH.

*blushes* Nopes. :D Damnit. I'm supposed to be used to that kind of error. I'll guess I have to get the other rom.

I don't know if I should bounce this topic or not like this. I firstly wanna say that this game is in the workbench, so go ahead and vote if you liked it. Secondly it's somewhat time to start a new crunch of it? There are still some errors in my movie where someone could save time. Mainly from ducking into exits. If someone comes up with new improvements I'd very much like to see them here so that I or someone else can make a new best time of the game. Thanks!

Just talked to highness, and it was ok that I could do a Toki run. So I want to improve his run! I would really appreciate feedback and tips on this project! Here is a WIP! http://www.sendspace.com/file/hgvpvz

I will check this out when I get back from work. Very interesting. I know that my run has alot of flaws. But since the game is a bitch when it comes to hexediting etc, I left the mistakes in the movie. This was also stated in my submission I beleive. It will be super nice to see new ways to break this game. :)

Yeah man, you are kind that I can improve your run, since you wanted to do a second version first. That's why I was polite and asked if I could do this run. Yeah the game is really taxing to play! In fact: it can be hell! That's why I thought it would be a challenge if I could improve a run of this game which is exremely difficult! I wait for comments before I start working on stage 2.

Strange that no one except Highness has replied to what I wrote in this topic. I thought people loved Toki cuz it got so freakin' many yes votes. :P

Workbench topics tend to garner more attention in a short time span than the topics on the respective game forum.

I wouldn't know. I've never even played the game or have the ROM.

How much faster do you think you can make the run Diman? BTW - Tried to watch the WIP. But it desyncs. Edit: What rom are you using? I have tried Legend of Toki - Going Ape Spit, The (UE) [c][!].bin and all the country settings. It desyncs with both Gens9f and gens9j

I think I can be 1 minute faster at least if I manipulate the game extremely much, so that I don't have to make so many stops to watch out for enemies. Ok! Now I know the link does work, but it is not fun to know that the movie desync of course. = ( Have you tried to play the movie in a UE rom? If that doesn't work I have to download a different rom and start over... Edit:Ok, I don't know what to do. I used a UE rom (it stood UE only), and the emulator I used was gens9j. This is strange. = S I'm going to record a new movie I think. Where I use a Toki - Going Ape Spit (UE) [c][!].bin rom like you Highness. ;)
