- Yo! Noid (U).nes - latest nitsuja's fceu - apparent movie length: 10943 frames I had just finished making stage 3 + the pizza battle, then i played back the movie, and before the start of stage 3 (before frame 10943, at the map screen) there is no more input recorded, the frame counter still going, and "s" being the only input displayed. It seems to keep frame counting forever. I would like to know what happened there. Here is the movie file (i believe it might have something to do with read/write toggle, because i must have used it by the start of stage 3). http://www.angelfire.com/ex/uobt/yo-noid-new_foda_v5.zip

Using Vatchern's suggestion of loading a savestate from the end of the pizza battle after stage 3, i could fix the movie file.

I think that's when the file gets corrupted so it thinks there's a different number of input bytes then there really is. Something like that.

But it's kinda weird how my last few movies got corrupted: I had already watched level 12 while playing back the movie from start and it played back fine. Then i saved slot 9 (slot which i use for the major checkpoints) somewhere in level 13 or 14, while it was previously a savestate from start of level 12. Now all my movies after a certain point have the beggining of stage 12 corrupted! and i'm not crazy, i wouldn't load a savestate by mistake, i know what i'm doing. There must be something going on behind what i can see.

I don't know if this is the same, but there's some bug with movie lengths and savestates that makes it so you have to frame advance at least 1 frame after loading a save state while recording before stopping (or playing) the movie, or the movie length will probably be different from what was in the savestate. It can make it too short or too long depending on where in the movie you were before (in your case it was longer). edit: From your description, I think it could be related somehow, but I'm not exactly sure how.

I am having this problem too, here is my best explanation: I record a section of movie, then I toggle to read only mode and load a previous savestate. It plays through what I recorded then at the end it does not stop. Intead it keeps playing indefinately with the last buttons I held continuing to be pushed (for instance it may just play forever with the "right" button held down). So far it hasn't caused any problems since it doesn't destroy anything I recorded. If I load my last savestate and continue recording everything is fine. In fact it is actually convenien because it prevent the movie from stopping at the end. So I can just toggle read only mode and loadstate to continue recorded and I don't have to load the file again from the menu.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects
