Hello Gentlemen. It's time for me to revive this topic as I'm finally starting to work on my final version of my normal route with DSS glitching. Here is my current progress. I'm currently 579 frames faster than my old movie due to more precision, less lag due to non laggy VBA, less save visits, and other minor things.

The Golem has been BWNED! A whopping 1311 frames faster so far. This Machine Tower in this version is way better. I probably got most of those frames off there. Mostly because the lack of lag and hardly any waiting. Watch the old one you'll see the difference. As always, comments are welcome.

As impressive as ever. The speed really makes this game shine in TASing. Anyway, I wondered why you used the card combo in the save room at Abyss Stairway, yet in all the subsequent saverooms you didn't? Something I missed here, I presume.

He ran out of mp just prior to entering the room and because of that the DSS wore off, thus needing reactivating after refilling mp at the save.

It looks good, aside from what I mentioned at that bone pillar in IRC. Keep it up.

Yai! Being a fan of your previous runs through this game, I'm very happy to see you have continued with your run.

Why does this movie start from Reset/SRAM, and not from Power-On?

I think that from power-on is unofficial.

Ok, this is sweet, but I have a question about when you run out at the abyss stairway. Why not just wait a bit after killing the Hellhound before you turn on the fast run DSS?

I tried doing that and it was slower. I also tried turning off the DSS at the vertical platforming part below the save and get enough MP to run on the platform outside the save room and reach the refill. I thought that would end up faster because the fast run DSS doesn't effect jumping speed and I was jumping most through that room. It ended up being a bit slower because for the length you would have to turn it off to have enough MP to reach the save you would still gain more time running even on those short platforms. Hope that makes since.

Wow, 28.45 seconds? Now that is an improvement! Haven't watched the update though. But I'll do it tonight.

Camilla needed to be BONED! Currently this movie is 3082 frames (51.36 seconds) faster than my old movie. There is way less lag, but still a tiny bit in this area. Looks way better though. I also hit Camilla twice with one bone which is always nice. I also stayed on the ground rather than jumping the platform like shown in my old run. I tried hitting the goat twice with one bone a bunch, but it didn't seem to work. Too bad. :\

i thought your original was too good to be true, so im naturally blown away. i liked how you went down to NO HEALTH before adramelech (or however the translation reads in this game as opposed to others). of course, im guess the next we'll see of this is in the submission queue, huh? heh heh.

I would like to know if the glitched run could be done faster by using the wizard, as you shouldn't need to collect two cards before being able to use the glitch.

Magician Mode is a replay game. You need a finished SRAM.

the magician is weaker and has to waste time to avoid enemys, those 2 or 3 seconds for card drops are gone quite fast. On the other hand, he should have more mana and needs less refills to keep running (which in turn adds even more delays for damage avoiding). You'll also save time by not entering the menu twice on each spell change. I have no idea what'll turn out to be faster, but I doubt that magician mode adds anything entertaining after you've watched the glitched normal run.

Dude, with magician mode you start with all the cards. So you could warp to Drac right away and save tons of time! You would save even more time by not needing to use the DSS glitch. Drac would take more hits because you have less strength but I don't think it would add more time than what's saved by starting out with the cards.
