Flying bloopers, eh? I've heard something about them. Can you stomp them like a regular enemy since they're out of water?

Hey, did anyone encounter a World 0? I just loaded a "bad" version (according to the emulator) and it started me in World 0-1, an underwater fortress where you have to choose the right paths. There was no Bowser or Toad at the end though, although I still got the Thank You/Princess in another castle speech. Is this one of those junk worlds, or is this ROM really evil? Oh, and it won't let me continue any firther, and in this instance, it doesn't matter what paths you choose, though the uppers are sealed.

I don't know is this is a TAS or real-life speedruns, but the images seem to suggest the former.

I actually thought it was a TAS. It seems unlikely anyone could pull off all the moves he did on a console.

Perhaps we should COIN a term for this sort of run? Such as "Pointless Run" Get it? Har har har. (I'm not saying there's no point to it... I'm just trying to be funny.) *ponders what games might be interesting when avoiding score*

Looks much more interesting then the other Super Mario Bros walk TAS, which never use the Run-Button.

You get a different ending in DuckTales if you can perform the (impossible) task finishing the game with no money.

If it's impossible, then how did you find out about it?

http://rpgd.emulationworld.com/ballz/ducktales/ending.htm Some random ROM hacker later confirmed this is how you get the ending, but I can't seem to find when or where this was posted.

I have watched the SMB 1 record video, and I can't seem to copy the vine trick. The vine trick I am talking about is in 4-2 when mario hits the vine block, then runs past it and goes down a pipe. He is then in the warp area. Here is a video where I try, but fail. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/963/walls.fcm Any help is appreciated.

Hi, everyone, I enter this site, and i became fan of phil and genisto xD well, as i see there are lots of speed runs of smb1, and it'll be pretty useless to do another speedrun.http://tasvideos.org/forum/posting.php?mode=editpost&p=76970 so i tough, that it 'll be better to do a coll splay. th thing is to show more than the normal programming errors. but, i'll have to do another world. the route'll be: 1-1 1-2 3-1 3-2 3-3 3-4 4-1 4-2 8-1 8-2 8-3 8-4 but the original thing will be some well-know bugs that ill use, like: end 3-1 with 127 lives end 3-3 catching the flag from behind and in 3-4 (finally 4-2) became small fire mario xD after all, i'll lose some secs in catching 2 mushrooms and 2 fire flowers that i need (and run the complete 3 world) but it'll be funny :P so, shall i continue this project? i guess im ready to start recording, the only thiong is that i'll have to practice more the routes, to masterize some programming errors. but is almost ready. ^^ anyway, i'll like ti do it, and since is different from the speddrun and warpless speedrun, my question is, if will have a place in the list :s so, shall i continue it? I would like to see this TAS. But not sure if this would be accepted on this site. Maybe when its played great and for entertainment from the beginning to the end. There was a glitch TAS someday at this site, but it contain not the glitches your write. Maybe add all know Glitches in this one run, then it will be a great and entertainment TAS, if this would be accepted or not. Like walk in walls, let enemies walk in the air and go to the Warp Zone through the pipe and not the vine.

Yeah, when it was called "Arc's Superplay Page"! I think it was called "Super God Mode". It was what got me into game glitching.

I have read it before, I don't understand how it can be used without going back to the vine?

The key to the trick is that you access the pipe while being further to the right side of the screen than you would normally be. The vine is not the key, and not even required for the trick. The vine is one way to accomplish it -- you can get very far to the right side of the screen that way, but you can also accomplish it by letting the game move Mario inside a wall without the screen scrolling.

Ok, that makes a lot more sense now, but any tips on getting farther to the right? (if you have seen my video)

obviusly, i just mentioned a few bugs, anyway, the rest of the movie will be in bisqwit palying lv. i mean that i can do all of it, walk trough walls, let the turtles in the air and etc, and the pipe glitch is a easy one. anyhow, seen that i said a very poor resume of my movie (im not good telling stories :s), i can add that i will do de speedrun time for the rest of the lvls (exept the ones that i will have to get mushrooms and flowers) but the most original thing, is that i'm masterizing a tech some kind of floor stomp (hiting goombas "without" jumping - not fireball)

yup ^^ that is a easy one ^^ and the 3-1 127 lives trick, is just for show it, dont think that i'll stay there till i get 127 lives, just a few, maybe till i get a symbol instead of a number, in the life chart anyhow, im happy to be in this comunity :P ^^ and i will work hard, to get this in a very entertainment movie xD

yup there's a tip that i found., is like that (i say i found, buecause, nobody told me, i saw it, but not tell me how to do it. :s, if there is aan easy way tell me xD) well the thing is: you go all the way to the right (it doesnt matter if u hit the vine brick) and when u get to the teleporting pipe. jump and fall in the EXACTLY left edge, then (it would be easiest in frame mode) u start to hit down, then a step then down. and if u get luck XD, when u press down and get into the pipe, u will start as if u have climbed the vine.
