I can't imagine a 100% without all 24 heart pieces. The more bombs/more arrows... Im not so sure.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

Does flagitious have a 100% items run in progress?
Hi I never worked on a 100% run for this. I wish you best of luck and hope you enjoy making the run. If you haven't decided about whether or not to get the bomb/arrow capacity upgrades, I would suggest not to, because it will take several minutes and add nothing to the entertainment. Also there are some minor errors that I know of in the existing any% run, the most important of which you should be aware of is the 2nd crystal dungeon boss, once you get the fuzz balls off, in addition to hitting it with the sword you can also hit it with the fire/icerod, this allows it to be killed before going into the ceiling a second time.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

You could just fast-forward through the part with arrows/bombs if you think it's boring to watch, which you probably will. But it's really hard to know what to get if there's no percentage count in the game. You probably wont ever notice that you've got an increasement in bombs and arrows, but you wont need the extra hearts, bombos or bottles either. Then there's the question whether not to get the Red shield just because it's replaced by the Mirror shield later in the game, or the blue tunic because the red tunic will replace that one. Some people will probably think that the red shield wont be needed because of how it's gotten and that it's going to be replaced anyway, but since the blue tunic is a treasure in one of the dungeons it must be gotten. Other's might think none or both must be gotten. Either way it'll probably disappoint someone. These are just things I think about, and you might see a definite answer to these questions, but I know that everyone wont have the same opinion. To me, the best thing would just be to skip this and make an improvement of the currently published video instead. I'd love to see a finished version of something like this, but in my opinion there's too many questions and doubts. There's probably more to be said, and I probably have more to say but I really can't come up with anything else right now.

I was planning to use the speedrundemo version as the basis for what to get, which means that I'll be skipping the blue armour, the red shield, and skipping extra bomb or arrow capacity. I will be getting all 24 heart pieces and all 25 selectable items. With regards to comparison with flagitious's video: counting from character select, Zelda's "thank you" text box appears at frame 10314 for flagitious; in mine, it appears at frame 10864. A large number of those extra frames are due to my own inaccuracies, the fact that I stop for a few extra bush rupees, and the fact that I get the lantern from the prison cell treasure box before I trigger Zelda's speech. I think I do defeat a few of the necessary soldiers faster than flagitious does, but I also defeat a completely unnecessary soldier because I couldn't figure out how to make him not be in the way. Thanks for the tip about the fire/ice rods! It should be easy to swap around when I get the ice rod. A lot of my run has become modular, because of all of the fluting around.

Try to beat this time by at least 4 frames. It's about 100 frames faster than flag. http://www.nerdparadise.com/crap/Omni/LoZLttP-Omni-WIP.smv The soldier I think you're talking about would be the one in 1B two rooms before the boomerang. If that's the case you have to go farther up for him to not notice you.

Why 4 frames?

Because I begin the game 4 frames slower than possible, but this also doesn't affect the randomness. (It wasn't lag as I previously suspected.)

I just watched the run up until getting Zelda, and... this run is sloppy. Here's a rundown. If you must enter a name. Do it as quickly as possible. 1) You can go down while going over. 2) You can press Start immediately after you enter your name. 3060: Clipping the doorway is always slower. 3200: You can wobble here. 3450: Why do you lift that bush. There's only one rupee under it, it's not enough to justify expending a second and a half on, when you can spend a half second on 20 for any enemy. 3738: You can get closer to that wall. 3831: You clipped the top of that wall. 4152: You clipped the bush. 4591: It's faster to wobble straight up and then straight left than it is go up and left, but only while in the water, because it slows you down slightly. 5822: Stab the last bush. 5949: You stop wobbling for a split second, but because you're on the stairs it doesn't really matter. 5970: You clip the door. 6207: Go right, it's faster. 6616: You clipped the door. 6867: You want to go diagonally as much as possible here. You don't do so. 6900: You also clip the door here too... 7669: You can get farther away from that key and still pick it up, try getting as close to the door as possible and still pick it up on the first possible frame. Note that the first possible frame is sooner the higher you go up to a point. You move faster than the key falls, so make sure the point that you stand is as low and to the left as possible while still being high enough to collect the key the instant it's grabbable. 7925: You want to go as diagonally as possible here. It's actually possible to avoid the guard by going down for one frame and then down-left for the rest. 7967: You also aren't as far to the right as possible. 8200: You clip that barrier. 9303: Interesting technique, but is it faster? 9600: Same question. 10000: You overshot the stairs. 11000: Manipulate that guard, you can do so by waiting a frame before entering the room. Or saving frames before entering the room. You should try saving frames, because there are quite a few available. 11131: Taking a pot is faster, see my run for details. 11200: Boomerang is unnecessary. 11284: x2?! 11529: You can get the key with the boomerang, you don't have to wait there. Although you move at the same rate as the boomerang, the boomerang has a very large hitbox, and can pick up the key from very far away, so done perfectly the boomerang is faster. 11812: You clip this wall. 11893: You don't get the treasure from the farthest from the right as possible. I stopped watching here. EDIT: Just as a general note before I forget, going straight down or down+left or down+right directly out of stairwell is bad as well. Go two frames directly to the left or the right, otherwise you experience a slowdown as you exit the stairs. Once you move those two frames though you're free to go. My wip I posted shows this trick as well.

Okay, just for you flaggy waggy; I'll post the only wip, since it's where Mr Entity's run ends. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1641/alttp.smv To that point, it is 33 frames quicker than Omni's, and 135 frames quicker than yours.

Looks good so far, just one question: around frame 8000, you walk left, but you walk normally, not using left+right. Wouldn't it save time to walk with left+right here?

He's wobbling against the wall, which is also causing fast movement.

hi im working on this, im 5 minutes in and 3.6 seconds ahead I'll do mini updates like this once every often. Let's try to revive discussion for this game. Flaggy, you owe me. So far, most of the time saved is from better movement and better slashes. The fun should start once I reach the Eastern Palace. I don't want to spoil anything about my run, but I should have at least half a dozen new changes/tricks from flaggy's run. Hopefully I will discover more along the way.

Don't misunderstand him people. He is not 3 minutes faster or 5 minutes faster. He is 5 minutes into the run and 3.6 seconds faster.

That is true, but a 1.2% improvement is incredible.

I was going to attempt an improvement over Flag's run after I finished with Megaman 2 for gameboy. But since Erokky beat me to it, I'm thinking of doing a 100% run instead. Anyway, good luck with the rest of your run. So far your wip looks well optimized.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Currently, I'm 2 rooms before the Sanctuary. I believe I would have gotten there by now if rats hadn't hindered my progress. Manipulation gives no light. I need to backtrack 1 or 2 rooms in order to lose the minimum amount of frames. I'll post a WIP once I reach the Sanctuary, and I promise, it will be the last one. Flaggy, I think I got a better rupee route.

I'm going to start a 100% run. My criteria is collecting all the heart pieces, collecting everything that fills the inventory, getting all the equipment upgrades with the exception of the blue mail and the red shield. I'm still contemplating whether or not to get the extra bombs and arrows . Any suggestions?

I should say that I've abandoned the run, so feel free to attempt to break the existing run.

Last I was aware, erokky gave up. And flag beat his time by just under a half second up to Zelda.

I'm not speaking on behalf of flag, but I believe he won't attempt to break his own time. That was just to prove that I missed a lot of things.
