I looked at that. You do appear to be going faster with just the down+A slide, but I definitely beat the boss faster. I still think Red's better than Blue, at least in certain areas where fire is good. I guess sliding is faster than alternating, but hitting enemies does slow you down.

Okay, now I need help in the item room. Specifically, in the part after the first walljump. Is it possible to uppercut the 6 floating blocks and save time? Also, toss me a tip on Melon Bread.

Not that I know of. Well, now that I think of it, you could always try uppercutting, using supercharge fire, and then walljumping (if you still can, I'm not sure). But I've always just strafed back and forth once with Force.

earth demo run in 1:23 Console run through earth. No sound because it went out of sync and I didn't feel like fixing it. I'm posting this mainly because the boss battle is fast. And have I mentioned that my gba d-pad (I'm using it as a controller via the gcn->gba cable) is completely shot? Actually, now that I think of it, my r-button is slowly dying too. Can't wait till the hori pad I ordered gets here.

My school's finals are over, and thus I now have the time to work on this again. I'll likely be starting from scratch, as I know of many optimizations that need to be done.

Trouble: My strategy for 1-1 involves missing some shots. I tried doing it without, but it takes time for the gun to start up so I end up not killing as quickly.

Yes...after a FALED ( there are other words that can describe it better but due to the age of some viewers I shall NOT be using them ) attemted at star fox 2...I took a LONG step away from speedrunning...but after getting convinced by a good friend of mine, I made another one...so...without further adu...I give you... GUNSTAR SUPER HERO'S ( Alpha spedrun ) http://rapidshare.de/files/28201687/Gunstar_Super_Heroes__U__Lipucd_.vbm.html Yup...its a full speedrun from start to finish...But its SOOO not done yet XD For one thing, I need help...ASAP help... A few parts im not TOO sure I did as fast as possable ( I.E. Moon4's board game, Moon2's shooter part, ect. ) and I KNOW a few parts could have been done MUCH better ( Moon1's flicky stage, Moon4's Black boss ) so if I could get...say...some AID in making this a worthy speedrun that would be GREAT! =3 Meh...now back to working on advance gardain heros =p Speedrun propertys -Aims for fastest time -takes ALMOST no damage ( only at golden silver do I take 1hp of damage )

This sounds a bit odd. If you have to take some damage, then by all means take as much as needed during the course of the game if it makes it faster. If you are aiming for a no damage run, then don't take any. Usually hybrid forms are inferior. I can't really help with the movie, but I hope you have checked this thread?

agreed, dont take any if you are aiming for no damage run even if it takes bit longer to do that part..

Ok...Ya im planning in the final run that I take no damage...I sqrewed up with the save stating on golden silver and got hit by that homing shot a FEW times too many ^_^;; ( after it hits about 5~6 times you lose 1hp ) and in many cases its eather A) get hit by green flame that does little to no damage or B) get womped by an attack that can do from 8~20 dmg ^_^;; I bet if I sat down and put a good 10 or so hours into it I bet that I can do it without getting hit. ...and no I didn't look into that topic at all! XD Thanks for the info! As I might know a few tricks it points out ( red's abusive power shot ) thought it IS giving me pointers on pathways ( I.E. Moon4 ) =3 I'll be doing a MUCH better run later with this new info...maybe by say...monday...;)

Well...umm...not sure if this is STILL under way but I found a few things out... 1) Moon2's part CAN be done WITHOUT taking damage! =0 My *crappy* Alpha speedrun found a NICE thing about that coptter...its hit box is a tringle... __ \ / Ya that...the tip is the frunt and the wide end is well...the end...but while SPINNING...well....look and see...( speed past the crappy flicky run...I SOOOO screwd that up ;_; )...mine was done just to test out what would be the FASTEST route...and I found that to be it...but now im debating if my black palace run fully optermized could be slighty faster then yours...i'll have to see yours to compare so...meh XD http://rapidshare.de/files/28201687/Gunstar_Super_Heroes__U__Lipucd_.vbm.html

Ahh...VERY sorry about that ^_^;; Im not the BEST typer/speller in the world so...PLEASE bare with me! ^_^; But All I said in the last post was I found out how Moon2 worked and in my (crappy) speedrun I show off how the hit box can be altured and as such dodge attacks I hope that solves that problem ^_^;;

ahh ok, I desided to go with red for a few factors: 1: red SEEMS to have a smaller hit box then blue does a good half of the time ( most noticable would be standing ) 2: as blue uniqe weapon might be stronger then reds...Reds can work without any energy XD tell the truth, beware of the last green fight...period...there seems to be a glitch that ZAPS energy right after your done with a super attack...VERY odd...so I also went with red for that ;) what I need to check on is starting frames for jumping and how long it takes each to reach maximum hight...I know reds values ( Normal: 7 frames start up -> 27th frame being max hight ) ( Uppercut punch: 11 frames startup -> 31 frames being maxed hight. 8 pixle different in hight ) and im sure by now you've notice the "gun lag" ( 11 frames for "A" and 13 for "R" ) so no need to gointo there...unless blues lag happends to be different ^^; Maybe we should see how each person fairs so far and compare times and techniques =3 For now, heres a more ORGANIZED run of earth/stage1 that i've done...but its only like...1:17 by game time ;_; I think It can be improved ^_^;; http://rapidshare.de/files/28357709/Gunstar_Super_Heroes__U__lipucd_run_v.2__.vbm.html Oh yes...because I know people have a problem getting past moon2, look at my other speedrun ( on the other page ) to see how the get thought it without taking even a HINT of damage =p

I take a 1 month break and now everyone's playing my game? Wow. By the way - no damage is basically the default for this run unless there's a way to save time with damage, which I doubt there is.

XD guess so =p A friend had me work on this a while back...Im just fannaly going public because I know I can do better with help ;) Oh...new update on my part...a preety good run wih red up to moon2 ( the movie ends at the selection of moon3 ). Take a look, and tell me on the biggest things I can improve on =3 Augest 7th update ADDED: Ok...FORGET that one...Just did Moon3 and found out how to get green to do JUST what I wanted him to do ;)....And I also found out a EVIL glitch when using a super weapon on him...HE ZAPS YOUR ENERGY!!! ;-; So if your wondering on why I switch in and out of guns at a few points its because im tryint to keep my fair share of energy as well as damage him at the same time. OMG! Moon3 done!!!
