shame, it was a good avatar... Rattler will have to do for now I'll try to plug in 2-3 hours today, but based on my previous boss working experience I know I won't get very far... it will all probably be wasted trying to get those hooks to fall down

Well, Sargon or guybrush (can't remember) said like 5 pages ago that I had to figure this stuff out on my own... boy did I hate that advice way back when, but now I found out how to drop those hooks... Kleaver has to be either at the end or completed his horzontal dive, now I just need to toy around to do it as close as I can. I can't make him start his horizontal dive as early as Arne, but I'll try to make it as close as possible. WIP will come as soon as I beat Kleaver, I predict either at the end of today or sometime tomorrow. And then I can start on Krem Quay, and the fun and quick work will come :P (though I won't make it sloppy, I promise.)

World 2 done Not as perfect as Arne's, but not 12 seconds slower like Sami's so I'm keeping this. I wasn't able to get diddy stuck in the air, but still good I'd say. I tried to keep Arne's method without copying every single movement, making it more unique and slightly slower. But same as with the first boss, aesthetically it's not exactly the same but it's my own work. On to Krem Quay! Glimer's Galleon and Bramble Blast are the only levels I'm not looking foward to

Barrel Bayou I might be able to improve this by a couple of frames, since you have to exit bonuses there are some spots that are slightly slower than Sami's any% because you have to walk slowly before doing a roll (like before the up arrows after bonus #2). Also I tested it, and a goal switch is 4 frames slower than a normal jump, plus no needing to do another goal switch or switching to have diddy for glimer's galleon (there's no difference between diddy/dixie swimming, which is why I wanted to use a goal switch in the first place) and I'll have diddy for krockhead klamber I'll start Glimmer's Galleon, anyone post if they notice improvements for Barrel Bayou Edit: No wait I realized I do in fact want dixie, because I want to start as dixie for Krockhead Klamber to get the DK coin... goal switch in glimmer's Galeon? most likely

Oh man, I was playing the first bonus of Glimmer's Galleon and got a glitch as I got the coin, I kept floating on and I didn't get a stop animation, the music kept going, I swam off the stage, it faded out to the level. It was so cool, and a time saver too. Very Funny. On a side note, I think the beginning lag for bonuses is based on how many bonuses there are in that particular level. Not something I can manipulate :P And I tested it out, and the reason I could not do a goal switch at Lava Lagoon was because I was invincible flasing... moot point but an unanswered one. You can't get the DK coin without hitting the invincibility barrel, not without losing a lot of frames.

I'm glad that's solved. I didn't notice anything that could be faster except the sideways-moving barrel in the bayou. towards the end. did you test to see exiting the previous special stage later, or entering the level on a different frame made a difference to where it was?

I'm pretty sure it spawns just like monsters do; what frame when you get there. but since it's such a slow moving barrel, it doesn't matter too much on where it is, it always is moving towards you and turns direction at the same time. The only spot I thought needed improvement was when Rambi hits a barrel-kroc and then sets up his charge, I can probably start the charge earlier by beign closer to the barrel, and the other is I tried showing off a little before getting the cannonball bonus, it wouldn't speed things up but since showing off is not my forte it could look nicer.

Yep a goal switch is possible at the end of Glimmer's Galleon. Will continue with the dark and creepy water level, especially since the number "2" makes the background white :P Hmm a tough level... most of the time I cut corners pretty well, but it's so hard to tell with all the darkness and stuff.. I'm at the bonus #2, WIP will come very soon

Glimmer's Galleon The second bonus didn't offer any funny stuff like #1... I believe the path is the fastest, I looked at both SDA and Sami's and it's the route they take, I try to go around corners as smoothly as possible, and of course do a goal switch which is only slightly longer than how Sami gets the target.

Really nice. Glimmer's Galleon was really smooth, although it is a water level. I also liked Krochead Klamber. Can you maybe shoot the last bee in the center earlier?

The webs can point upwards, but it takes them a while to gain height, I had to move to the left then spin around and shoot a web further away so that it would hit the bee at the height I'm at without creating any platforms. I have to move right to make sure the bee on the right gets hit by my horizontal web, and that makes positioning for the bees on the left/center more difficult.

As I started Slime Climb, I disappointedly found that I can climb faster by one frame by pressing "b" one frame before I can grab the rope... arg all the way back to Mainbrace Mayhem where the ropes start... poll: should I continue or go back to the WAY beginning to fix all the rope mistakes, as well as other tiny mistakes people have pointed out? It will go faster, because A) I know how to beat the bosses now, no biggie and B) there are a few mistakes I can improve on that will save frames, as well as seeing if I can save frames in crocodile cauldron and krem quay because I've played them before and I can comprae it with something. I need input fast though

If you believe that it won't dampen your spirits, and you are still motivated to do the run, I see no reason to go back and fix your mistakes. It would be for the best, and make your run a lot harder to obsolete! It's your call.

Pirate Panic V8 21 frames saved making it harder to obsolete, plus the fact that I'd only had 4000 rerecords by the time I was at Slime climb made me think it could be more precise; I'll redo again, and hopefully with more frames saved and mistakes removed I could acumulate 1+ second of improvement by the time I get to Krem Quay, we'll see. As long as I don't lose any frames... I'd like to thank all the supporters who have now seen through 7 restarts of the run, I commend you all for my constant redoing from the start. Let's make this the last restart, shall we?

That only depends on you ;) You seem to be really restless when you know that you can improve your run. Impressive! I hope the boss fights won't make as much trouble as the last time(s)...

Hopefully not now that I know what I'm doing... I'll have to find that 3 second loss vs. Arne's and Kleaver's Kiln I know what to do, it might take a weensy bit of luck manipulation for cannonball #4 haha yeah I do get restless sometimes... I like it most when I'm crunching out 3-4 levels in one day, and not fretting about restarting or being stuck somewhere. 80% done with Mainbrace Mayhem, WIP when I finish that

Mainbrace Mayhem 13 frames saved I will skip Cranky Kong to get him on the way in Krazy Kremland, as suggested. Hopefully I won't forget to get him in the future, or else I'l be looking at 101%. (unless getting him in the credits counts? doubtful)

Gangplank Galleon 26 frames saved that's exactly 1 second saved so far, not counting the skipping Cranky Kong (for obvious reasons)

Lockjaw's Locker saved 54 frames in this level, instead of jumping across the water I landed funny and swam above the water line... faster I believe more frames saved in smoothness, better enguarde charging, overall betterness. Also dismounting Enguarde earlier and swimming directly to the warp was WAY faster

Topsail Trouble saved 9 frames 5 levels improved, 2 seconds saved, in one day... restarting was not such a bad idea... yeah I've played these levels 8 times, it goes by fast I have it fully memorized

Wow, it was really cool how you could keep so much speed by dismounting Enguarde. That looked great! Maybe it's just conceit, but I think the climbing even looks faster although it's just one frame per jump...
