Me and my wife had talked about TAS'ing this game
Does anyone else share their hobby with partners in this way? 1) Do you make TASes together? 2) Do they know that you TAS? 3) Do they know what a TAS is (have they seen any)? 4) Do they have absolutely no idea? For me it is a 3) ; i showed her part of Guano's OoT run. She didn't seem too intersted though........ She likes to take her time with games.......

1) No. 2) She knows that I TAS, yes, but she doesn't like it. She would if I did something more useful to society or something... 3) She knows what a TAS is (I had to explain for a full hour how it was not cheating and stuff though). She has seen only 1, and that's the sonic 2 (genesis) TAS. That's the only game she cares about. Now you all know more about my girlfriend. ;)

I used to show my ex-girlfriend my progress on things before we broke up. She also enjoyed a couple of the mega man TASes, and the Ecco the Dolphin TAS.

she understands what a TAS is, but is not a fan of speedruns in general. Being grown up in a musical family without TV or computers she especially dislikes NES-games because she can't stand the sound :)

1) Nope, she's not into videogames. 2) Nope, although she knows that I do spend sometimes too much time with videogame, and she won't be interested in knowing what a TAS is, so I think she will settle with that I say that I play videogames. Besides, doing TAS:es actually is playing videogames, just in a different way... or something. 3) I showed her a part of JXQ's SMW-run once, and she wasn't that interested, at first she thought it was me playing, but then I showed her that I didn't touch anything. She got surprised. :) 4) Pretty much so, yes.

at my college, in my suite all the guys are facinated with the TASing I do. I show them my work, and they're amazed because they've played the game before. I've even set a few of them up with emulators so they can play all the classic console games they played as kids.

You're right. Somehow it is very easy to get people fascinated in TASes, however, they have little desire to get involved in the site.

My girlfriend does know about TASing (well, we live together so how could she not) and I've made her watch a few TASes of games she's familiar with. Mostly she just says it's weird and that she can't understand how anyone can be entertained by TASes, especially long ones. She's happy that I'm happy though and doesn't mind me TASing or watching TASes.

My girlfriend would like to try making a TAS, but doesn't think she has the patience to do so. :) She enjoys watching some of them with me.

My ex thinks that I'm crazy that watches TAS's sometimes. But she watched my Oracle of Seasons Speedrun for some stupid reason... Because: 1. She hates Zelda. 2. She has never played any Zelda games. 3. She don't like speedruns. But still she watched it... Hmm.

1) I tried this since I thought it might be easier for a 2-player run, I let my gf use a controller. But actually, I think it might be easier to just assign the keys better. 2) Yes, if I'm into TASing a game I get excited and talk about it a lot. In turn I listen to her fanfic ideas. 3) Yes, she's also a geeky engineer and I have gotten her into video games. I show her some of my WIPs and some other TASes which look cool.

1) No, she doesn't partake. 2) Yes, she knows that I do. 3) Yes, she knows what they are. She prefers speedruns.
